Wishing all of the team the best in these difficult times. Let’s work together to beat this! Clearly we do not have much leadership and guidance from those that profess to know everything! Stay safe all! We look forward to our next excellent cocktail in your property once we finally get through this. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Ritz-Carlton, Chicago

Very friendly staff especially the front desk. Our rooms were spacious. The view of the lake from the room was absolutely beautiful. The club lounge service was great they even have extra phone chargers in case you forget yours. The parking valets were very attentive when we arrived and departed the hotel. Everything meets the Ritz Carlton standards. You get what you pay for there TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great - just beware of renovation floors

Mar 6th, 2020

This property was lovely. The rooms were comfortable and conveniently arranged with all the expected amenities. The staff we encountered were uniformly professional, friendly and excellent. However, on our first full day a racket began in the morning and did not stop, at least while I was in the room, until after 4. It sounded like a jackhammer immediately overhead, and it was literally rattling the walls. I usually just ignore things like this - not worth making a big deal over. But this was so incredibly loud and jarring I couldn’t stay in the room - I had intended to do some work while my spouse was in a conference. When I contacted the front desk to find out what was happening, the person asked if I hadn’t been notified of the situation when I checked in. Obviously not. When I jokingly asked for earplugs, they sent some up. But sadly they were no match for the noise and vibration. I understand that hotels have to do this periodically and don’t want to close off rooms if they don’t have to. And since we were at a conference and got special rates, I suppose we were the likely candidates for construction noise. Had I been given a choice I would have paid a higher rate for a room that didn’t sound like the ceiling was going to crash in, or I would have made plans in advance to be out of the room all day. Just wish I’d had the choice. I’d surely stay there again, it is a great facility. Just without the noise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

what a property! From exiting my cab to entering the cab after checkout, the R-C came through. There is internal construction/remodeling underway, and circumstances forced the desk to give me a room "in the zone" in order to comply with other wishes regarding room location. They fairly compensated via F&B discount. The room was spectacular, service impeccable. food good, bar staff beyond top shelf. I sure hope the conference that I attended returns there next year. Disappointed in expect Ritz quality

Feb 25th, 2020

As a Platinum Bonvoy member and having stayed at many a Marriott property was very surprised that Marriott would allow that one of its Premier Brand, Ritz-Carlton, would allow its rooms to be presented in such manner. I learned from the engineer that the room I checked into was the first time someone has stayed in it after the recent renovation. As I needed to hop on a conference call and quickly open my laptop to access my files I soon discovered that they never put any electrical outlets anywhere near the table (the room has no desk). I called and after 30 minutes an engineer brought up a big thick electrical cord to go across my room to access electricity (picture included). Then after looking at the bed I then noticed that something was off. If you look above the bed (picture included) you can see that the piece of wood molding above the wallpaper was installed crooked and unlevel. See distance between ceiling and wood molding on left side vs right side. And then when looking for a bottle opener to open a beverage I discovered that in the drawer under the butler pantry was a used pair of jeans with the belt still left on them. Obviously someone must have stayed in this room since renovation. I usually never write reviews and generally am very satisfied with my stays at Marriott but had to share my experience in order for them to fix these issues before getting more negative reviews.
