Guests rave about hotel's superb service and prime beachfront location
Room rates do not include daily resort fee
The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale does not disappoint. The hotel's modern decor is accented with art deco touches, the lobby is crafted out of gorgeous marble and private balconies adjoin all guest rooms and suites. Along with the ocean or Intracoastal Waterway views, rooms boast leather furniture, flat-screen TVs and spacious marble bathrooms. Some travelers recommend requesting rooms with ocean vistas, as Intracoastal Waterway-facing rooms are situated next to a building with air conditioning units that can be loud and unsightly. Guests can't quite determine what they like most about this hotel, praising the Ritz's posh perks like a fitness center that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway, an 8,500-square-foot spa and a heated infinity pool with poolside service. But there are two points all reviewers seem to agree on: Both the beachfront Fort Lauderdale, Florida, location and the outstanding service receive high marks across the board. However, keep in mind that all guests are charged a daily $40 resort fee. To offset this extra charge, Marriott Bonvoy members use points to cover their stays.

Critic Reviews

Inspired by the design of an opulent luxury liner, 24 dramatically tiered, glass-walled stories rise from the sea, forming a sumptuous Ritz-Carlton hotel with guest rooms that reinvent a golden era of luxury travel, a lavish tropical sundeck and infinity-edge pool peering over the ocean, and a Club Lounge that spans an entire floor. The sun-filled lobby and public areas sparkle with white-and-charcoal marble floors, crystal chandeliers, leather banquettes, and murals inspired by the work of French artist Jean Cocteau.

Condé Nast Traveler

Melding the brand's urbanity with the town's identity as a top yacht market and cruise port, the 192-room Ritz-Carlton resembles a glossy Art Deco ocean liner, from its curvilinear marble lobby, filigreed banisters, and velvet taupe banquettes, to the seventh-floor pool deck that gives guests a sight line straight into the ocean. Room decor is simple, with beige upholstery and dark wood, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlantic or the Intracoastal Waterway.

Travel + Leisure

Marble floors polished to a high sheen, glittery Art Deco chandeliers, white Frette linens – taken together, the vibe at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale is sleek and airy, and is only enhanced by the sunlight pouring through the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are 192 serene rooms appointed with studded dark wood chests and plush beige armchairs, but most guests are here to play in or along the Atlantic Ocean, which laps at the sand just below the complex’s spacious pool deck.

Just across the street from the beach, this hotel brings a distinguished elegance and sophistication to the area as the only Five Diamond rated property in the county. Light woods, Italian marble flooring and intricate design mediums help to illustrate the beauty that is offered when entering the property.
