Amazing property

Jan 11th, 2020

Simply an amazing property in an amazing setting. We had the chance to spend a night there and enjoy the various facilities like the spa or the pool. The hotel is set in a spectacular setting at the edge of a cliff giving the opportunity of nice walks if the weather allows. We tried the main restaurant which was nice. Despite the great service, slightly disappointed by the breakfast. Still a fantastic stay though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overpriced and not very considerate

Jan 8th, 2020

Pretty location and property but staff just goes through the motion. Not worth the money. Came for a special occasion and was treated poorly and won’t return. Has gone downhill since I was here last year and am disappointed in the way they treated me as just a nuisance and not a valued customer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dog friendly but not very

Jan 7th, 2020

We live in San Francisco and wanted a close getaway where we could bring our dog. A dog friendly hotel should have a place to eat with your dog. There is one restaurant that allows dogs but it is uncovered (and it was rainy when we were there) only open from 12-5 and has a very limited menu (mostly raw sea food). The Ritz does have an informal restaurant named Mullins with a covered patio.. When I went in to make a dinner reservation I was told that there was no patio service and no dogs allowed out there. This is patently absurd for a "dog friendly" hotel. Here is a restaurant which serves all three meals and has the space to allow for canine companions but refuses to allow dogs. Our room was in a separate building from the main hotel in the Cypress guest rooms. It was great for our dog and we had our own self parking lot so we didn't have to go through the valet system of the main hotel. After a lovely day hiking on the coastal trail (which goes through the property and was the best part of our stay) we just wanted to relax in bed with our books. The lighting was so inefficient we gave up trying to read and turned on the TV. Some directional task oriented bedside lamps should be considered for greater comfort. The staff we encountered were all very nice and helped make our stay as enjoyable as possible. When our outdoor fire pit wouldn't light the maintenance man arrived promptly and fixed the problem. We had similar success when we needed help with the thermostat. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Loved every minute - impressed from arrival to departure - Bliss!

Jan 2nd, 2020

It is true: From arrival to departure every facet of our stay at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay was phenomenal. The team of gentlemen handling arriving and departing cars are efficient and friendly. Manuel - extremely gracious and professional - assisted us with check in and myriad other small questions throughout our stay. Our sixth floor room was a breathtaking-with stunning views of the 18th hole and the ocean and sky! The Bagpiper made a nightly appearance...Beautiful drapes and shades were on remote control. Great King Bed. Lovely linens. The bathroom had a wide assortment of quality amenities including the best toothbrush ever, terrific shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, soap… A really Great bath tub…and the list goes on. The Turn Down Service was one-of-a-kind- Will not spoil it for you. The in-room Coffee and tea set up was perfect. Lunch at the bar, in the lobby level restaurant, was delicious! Julia was gracious. Upon Departure, there was impressive coffee set up In the lobby. We had a slight challenge with my car trunk - the early morning staff could not have been more resourceful and smart. Cannot wait to return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Easy drive from San Francisco. Breathtaking vistas of the Pacific from this cliff side resort. Incredible golf on the Ocean and Old courses. Enjoy the sunset around a fire pit and listen to the bagpiper end each day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
