Gorgeous.

Gorgeous. So far I've been here twice, once to get drinks at night where we sipped bougie cocktails by the cozy fireplace next to their bar. 10/10 would recommend it was very relaxing not crowded and easy to have a conversation while relaxing on comfy furniture. Second time I went for my boyfriends open bar company party and it was outstanding. Very professional staff and outstanding catering! I loved the decor and also the fact that they had 10 fully staffed bars. Both experiences are just what you would expect for a Ritz.. exceptional! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Would be 4-5 stars, but poor customer service leaves it more at a 2. There are tons of nice hotels in DC-- stay there!

My fiance and I were attending a wedding held here and decided to make a long weekend out of it. The room we had was spacious and clean. The bar area was nice and we were looking forward to the weekend. Upon returning to our room after the housekeeping services came through, I realized two of my bracelets I had sitting in a cup were gone. Please note that I am not accusing the housekeeping staff of purposefully taking my items. However, I do believe they were likely discarded because of carelessness while cleaning our room. I travel often and when hotels do not have jewelry dishes, I will typically place my items in a cup when I take them off to shower, etc.. I brought this up to the front desk and they sent over a representative named Rosemary Plater. She was very kind and seemed to be helpful. She gave me her number and email and told me to reach out with specifics of the jewelry and they would do their best to replace it. I reached out several times with absolutely no response...one of the bracelets that went missing was an antique given to me by my grandmother. Quite a disappointment! We are approaching the year mark and I still have not gotten any kind of resolution. I'm not sure if she mistakenly gave me the wrong email & phone number, but this is unacceptable. Although I did enjoy the property, I would not choose to stay here again. Washington DC is full of beautiful hotels and I would rather give my business elsewhere! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Confused

This hotel had a great location. Negatived were the rooms were small and not cleaned well. One situation that really irritated us involved our room category. We had called to let them know we were going to be arriving a little bit later than originally planned. They said it was fine, no problem. They had upgraded us and told us that we would be in a suite. I could see on the app, that our room was ready. (We get upgraded sometimes based on our loyalty/reward program). Anyway, we were really excited to get this room upgrade. Upon arriving, we were not given the room! We were told it had been given away already because we arrive later than planned. Everything about this scenario was just bad customer service. They never made it right. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed for business & the cross departmental employees was nothing short of amazing. The Registration team whether day or night oozed out so much positive energy & assistance, I plan to return for a Staycay visit. My room which dubbed more as a small suite offered a private sitting area with a good view of NHamp/21Street comings & goings. The 65/70" Flat Screen TV was adjustable per your choice of sitting/lounging. & let's not forget to mention the Automated minibar with sensors & snack trays with built-in electronic scales. Not sure which one was being utilized here, yet it was definitely activated. The bathroom was huge with a separate commode/telephone, garden tub & standing shower amongst the well lit dual vanity sinks. After I OCD the bathtub, I ran my bath & realized that I left my soaking essentials at home. When I called the Front Desk to inquire if the Gift Shop/Sundry Market had any sorts of bathtub essentials, I was asked to wait a few moments & someone would further assist me. To my surprise, one of the Housekeeping employees tapped on my door & brought me a fancy bag with even a fancier jar full of Bubble Bath with additional toiletries...I did not bring the jar home with me (smile). When it was all said & done, I slept like a baby on the plush-top mattresses. Hats off to the Valet Team - both the day & night shifts. The team maneuvered our fleet of seven vehicles with precision & professional courtesy, even amongst my requests on continuum. Such a wonderful stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spectacular Service

Arrived as DC was “closing down” due to COVID-19. (Short trip to get an updated passport.). Received an email indicating our cruise was cancelled AS we arrived. Decided to just enjoy a night before returning home. Parked below the hotel, then took the elevator to the reception floor. Kenneth Hastings (Kenny), at the desk, greeted us with a friendly smile and listened sympathetically to our story about our cancelled cruise. He offered us a glass of champagne to help soften the blow of losing our vacation. We checked in quickly and went to our room. Just as we arrived at our room, the phone rang. It was Kenny suggesting that we not unpack as he’d been able to move us to a better room. (He felt badly for us traveling so far, just to find out that our cruise was cancelled.) Ali, a valet, knocked at the room door at that moment, loaded his cart with our luggage and took us to our new room. We were STUNNED, as they had upgraded us to the Presidential Suite. It honestly made our night and week!! The rooms were clean, well-appointed, spacious, and pure luxury. We relaxed for 30 minutes, then went to the lounge, just in time to get a drink and lovely cheese plate. At Kenny’s suggestion, we went to Le Diplomate for dinner. Hopping French restaurant. The next morning we enjoyed room service (eggs benedict delivered hot, fresh fruit and fabulous French croissants), but we’d forgotten the suite had a dining room (smile), so we ate it in the lounge area of the suite. We showered (great toiletries!), dressed, and then went to the passport office. We returned and checked out at about 12:00. GREAT stay, and much appreciated upgrade! Reminded me why I used Ritz Carlton and Marriott for business for many years, and why I’ve always loved them as a hotel brand. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
