Look Elsewhere

Jan 21st, 2021

Due to COVID everything is closed. However, no where do they tell you that when you book. Restaurant closed. Spa closed. Gym closed. Bar closed. Limited room service open until 10pm. Honor bar not stocked. Your menu is two sheets of B/W copies. Yet the rate didn’t seem to reflect the fact that this hotel has few services. Over $400 night all in. Also, why is the restaurant closed if all the other restaurants in the city are open? Why can they clean your room, bring room service, change your towels but not stock the fridge? Even if all these services were available it doesn’t feel like a Ritz Carlton. More like a nice but basic four star business hotel. For under half their rate you can find that elsewhere in Cleveland. Look elsewhere if you are expecting any sort of Ritz wow factor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Finest in Cleaveland

Dec 29th, 2020

This is the best of what Cleveland offers. Downtown location is convenient close to everything. Public square Cavalier arena shopping dining everything. Staff is very friendly and the rooms were very clean and covid protocols well maintained. The washrooms are well laid and luxurious as any ritz. I have stayed at other hotels in Cleaveland but this is my fav. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Couples Weekend Gateway

Nov 17th, 2020

Let start off by the excellent customer service and professionalism of the front desk staff. I was there to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary and the hotel staff made it not only personal but went out of their way to make me and my wife feel like royalty. The room are clean, spacious, quiet and a fantastic view of the lake. The food is phenomenal, the valets are very accommodating and friendly. Overall the staff their really cared and took care of us. I would recommend this hotel to everyone for business, leisure or a getaway. Job well done by the whole staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

COVID doesn’t exist here...

Oct 17th, 2020

Unless... it’s about their service and amenities. In short: - Service is mediocre - Noise of the room AC is horrendous - You get all the messages from Marriott regarding COVID and how well they handle it, and the hotel itself sends it too, but... + found a used wrapper/trash under the bathroom sink, i.e., they don’t take the cleaning part too seriously (shouldn’t even happen without COVID) + don’t use your own wipes to clean the basics, you’ll most likely want to move to a different hotel + no mask enforcement. Groups of 4-6 people without masks in the foyers, using elevators, even accompanied by staff, and no one says anything At the same time: + your room is empty, stripped off of all amenities + room service is delivered in plastic boxes with plastic silverware (which is generally fine, but not for that price point) Overall: Go somewhere else. P.S. We always give hotels the chance to react before we write a one star review. In this case the response, for what we think are concerning items during these times (trash from visitor before us, no mask enforcement, filthy wipes after wiping off the faucet and nightstands), was a standard copy and paste message. Not satisfying at all and shows us that these concerns simply aren’t being taken seriously. So if you think that COVID is real, this is not the place to stay, you’ll feel very uncomfortable. Very nice hotel

Sep 27th, 2020

Overall, this is a very nice hotel. The rooms here are probably the nicest of any of the downtown Cleveland hotels that I have stayed at. The location isn't as good as the hotels closer to Euclid/E 9th, but it is still an easy walk to most attractions and is near the Warehouse District. The hotel seems a little short staffed due to the COVID cuts, but everything was still very pleasant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
