Very Nice for Families with (3) younger Children

Aug 21st, 2019

Family of five with younger children. First time at the Royal Sands. Priorities in finding a resort were room with spacing for five, kids club, safety and good food. The combination room was excellent at proving enough space and sleeping arrangements to accommodate everyone. Kids club was excellent for five, seven and nine year old. We tried all the restaurants and received excellent service and food. Pool, beach and grounds were all clean and well kept. As I've read on other reviews, the time share people were not pushy and left once you said "no thanks". Overall, we were asked three times for a presentation during our week long stay. Guests staking out their chairs at the pool and beach is an issue. It's been reviewed enough on here that it's obvious the resort doesn't want to take action. Wifi in general areas us unusable. Wifi in rooms is decent. We moved rooms on Saturday. This almost prevented us from traveling to the Royal Sands but wasn't as bad as we thought. We used Thomas Moore for transportation from \ to the airport. Good experience. Busing situation between the resorts is ok at best. We preferred to take a taxis between resorts. A few items are ridiculously priced such as the boogie board rentals ($12 or $16 per day) and photography. Some of the activities in the kids club have a fee. These seemed reasonable. Great First Experience!!!

Aug 20th, 2019

I visited Royal Sands with two friends to end our summer before coming back to school. It was all of our first times in Cancun, even a Spanish-speaking country and it was an amazing first experience! The environment that the hotel provides is a great one for everyone! It feels great for families with children, couples, and those just looking to have fun! While on our trip, we all agree that it was the people that were what made the trip, staff AND guests included! The friendly environment allowed us to make connections with new friends from all over and all of the staff are very friendly and truly do their best to make your experience at the Royal Sands a good one. My friends and I were especially fond of the activities and the activities team at the Royal Sands. Our favorite was pool volleyball and beach volleyball, but they also have a whole schedule of activities that can fit different interests. We surprisingly found that we all really enjoyed doing water aerobics every morning as well! Even if you don't think that you're good at volleyball or whatever skills necessary for the activities, the activities team does a great job of making you feel included and just to have fun in general. My friends and I loved their fun and upbeat personalities and the jokes that they cracked. Shoutout to Christi (also goes by Chris), Luis, and Salvador from the activities team for helping make our trip a memorable one! I also personally had a great experience with Irvin, one of the pool bartenders. He always was happy to serve my friends and me and made us feel very welcomed from our first day. We also got dinner at Hacienda Salis on our last night at the resort, it's a lovely restaurant right next door to the Royal Sands. The food is great and if you decide to go with All-Inclusive, most of the food options is included with your package! But while having dinner there, I was struck by our waiter, Imer's service. He tended to us with a smile on his face and I really appreciated his kind and polite manner while serving us! If I decide to visit Cancun again, I would definitely come back to Royal Sands! For those considering the Royal Sands, I recommend it! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excelent Stay!

Aug 20th, 2019

Check all restaurants available from Royal Resorts outside if you take the all inclusive package. Trully recommend the La Tratoria on Royal Cancun. The service in the bar and on breakfast may be optimized (faster attandance). An excelent location and service in general, great rooms and an awsome bed to rest. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Royal Sands is Amazing

Aug 20th, 2019

We just returned from the Royal Sands. It was excellent. We had the best food we've ever had at a resort. It's obvious the chefs are very talented. The Mexican restaurant that was part of our all-inclusive package (Hacienda Sisal) was amazing. Great atmosphere, service and wonderful food. There's a sense that Royal Sands really pays attention to detail. The only negatives were the abundance of seaweed. The resort does a great job using a "surf rake" to clean the beach, but sadly, it seems like a never-ending battle as new giant patches wash up on the beach. Obviously, it's not the resort's fault as it is a widespread problem across the Caribbean, Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. The other negative is a lack of entertainment at night. We went to karaoke two nights at the sports bar, but that was about it. This is a great place to relax and eat. The amenities and service are top notch. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
