Beautiful hotel in a terrible city

Sep 19th, 2020

This hotel is beautiful. The hotel staff was outstanding and pleasant. Too bad the hotel can’t be moved. Almost everything in the city continues to be boarded up. The leftovers walking the streets are drug addicts, homeless and “woke” mask hysterics. This city is destroyed. I hope the hotel makes it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Trip #1

Great hotel! The architecture is eautiful and we received a personal tour of the hotel and all the history. You have to see the basement and all the hidden rooms. You will find something for everyone. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outdated hotel

Aug 25th, 2020

Even though this is a historic hotel, the rooms are small and outdated. I think they are close to beginning renovations which will be helpful. If you are looking for "old Kentucky charm" this is your place. We enjoyed our time here nonetheless, but if you are looking for something more modern, I'd seek other options. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Covid getaway

Aug 21st, 2020

We booked this hotel last minute to try to visit a few distilleries that were open during COVID. This was a cool old hotel. Staff was helpful and courteous. We were one of very few guests in the hotel and downtown was like a ghost town. When we all can resume I could see the property being in the thick of things and very well located downtown. The drawback... our room was small and the bathroom tiny. I could live with this normally but our air conditioning was not great. Our room was very warm and it was a cooler than normal week in August. Considering the times we are in this hotel is trying to make the experience be as “normal” as possible. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A little disappointed

Jul 15th, 2020

Beautiful old property we booked because it was downtown and in walking distance to the distilleries. Unfortunately between Covid and the demonstration most of the area was closed including the restaurant in the hotel but we were still charged a premium price. The room was tiny TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
