Amazing service & hotel stay!

Mar 16th, 2020

We chose to stay at the Seelbach for my husbands 40th birthday trip. When we arrived, our room only had a shower. Considering we have no bathtub at home, I was really looking forward to getting a few baths in during this stay. A quick conversation with the front desk staff & we were switched rooms to accommodate this. Our room was beautiful, had a separate seating area, and a great bathroom. There wasn’t a lot of room for our bathroom essentials, but the window sill made a nice shelf. There was an alarm clock with both outlet & usb options for all your charging needs, plus two outlets on each lamp in the room. It really helped considering we drove from KC & I wanted to make sure all our electronics were charged before leaving. The valet was a great perk too. They were friendly & accommodating. I had left our ticket for valet in the car one time, explained the situation, they verified our car & let me take a picture of their portion of the ticket in case I left it in the car again. Exploring the hotel was a perk too. The Rathskeller was a little creepy. There were a set of stairs right outside the Rathskeller that led to an upstairs room of some sort. The room was dark, the stairs were a but under maintained and I got the feeling maybe it was somewhere guests should be, but there was no sign or any indication that we shouldn’t or weren’t allowed to go up those set of stairs. Once we realized we probably weren’t suppose to be up there we did come back down. There are so many moons and crannies to this hotel, it was fun walking around a corner and not knowing where you’d end up! I would definitely stay here again, it was across the street from 4th street live which was a huge plus. There is a CVS across the street as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old Fashioned - in the best possible way!

Mar 13th, 2020

Enjoy an Old Fashioned at the bar for a good introduction to this slice of history. Lots of history (by US standards at least!) and an atmosphere quite unlike your average Hilton. Service is calm, friendly and efficient. Dining options are limited to the bar menu, but there is a restaurant open for the excellent breakfast buffet. Location is more central than it might look on the map - Fourth Street is actually one of the main entertainment hubs of the city, and is right outside the door. This is mainly an advantage as there are things to see and do close by, plus plenty of dining options. On the other hand, it can be quite noisy outside at night, and the sound-proofing is not what you would get in a modern hotel. Our room itself was spacious - the bed comfortable, and the décor maybe a little tired, but certainly in keeping. The bathroom was very small by US standards, but adequate. Some plumbing problems were quickly attended to by Maintenance. Our first visit to Louisville, and we were glad we chose the Seelbach.. Remember to explore The Rathskeller in the basement of the hotel - more German than anything you'll find in Germany! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Al Capone Party for Huntington’s Disease

Mar 8th, 2020

Great party. I danced so much my feet were hurting by the end of the evening. Mary Vala who works at the door saw me in my sock feet at the door waiting on our Lyft. She graciously offered to bring me house slippers and immediately went to get them! That was the nicest thing. I was so appreciative. What a great employee. I didn’t even have to ask for help. Great night start to finish in the Rathskeller in the Seelbach Hotel. Thank you again Mary!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
