One of a Kind

Jul 15th, 2019

I dare say that the Singular Patagonia is one of the most unique places to stay in the world. It's fascinating how they were able to integrate a hotel into a historic sheep-processing plant with such beautiful results. The public areas feature the original brick walls and industrial machinery, while the guestrooms occupy the former cold-storage wing but take on a newer vibe. Our room was spacious, well-appointed with a comfortable bed and large bathroom, and showcased a breathtaking floor-to-ceiling view of the fjord and mountains. Once you get past the fact that you're sleeping where thousands of sheep carcasses used to lie, it really is an amazing place to lay out and watch the clouds go by. The hotel restaurant was outstanding. We normally don't opt for half-board, but in this case it was a great value and I'm glad we did. Although we never got tired of the selection, if this does happen I would suggest asking about the asado-themed dinners, and/or checking out the options in Puerto Natales which is a 10-minute (6-8 USD) taxi ride away. We also took a cooking class where we learned to make empanadas, and that was a great experience. Speaking of activities, the hotel offers many different excursions for both the active and laid-back traveler. So even with its wonderfully isolated location, you never feel bored. I would recommend a guided tour of the hotel grounds for anyone who is a history/architecture (or engineering?) buff. And of course, Torres del Paine is a must if you have never been before. However, don't feel compelled to limit yourself to the options offered by the hotel. We decided that none of them matched what we wanted to do (moderate hiking with a close-up view of the Torres/Cuernos), so we rented a car in town and designed our own itinerary. Kudos to the excursion staff for not pressuring us to go with them, but instead giving expert advice to help us pick a route that was more to our liking. A couple of minor complaints: first, the swimming pool was freezing cold even in summertime. Also, the turndown service would always leave a card about the hotel's history on the bed. Yes I am a nerd and enjoy reading about this sort of topic, but even I would have appreciated something more useful and/or edible. Overall however, there were no major problems and I truly enjoyed my stay at the Singular. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great restoratione d

May 22nd, 2019

Stayed here 3 nights in april, attracted by the nice restored place. When you arrive at the hotel, it doesn't look ‘ like a hotel. First there is a reception in an old restored sheep stable. Friendly reception, where they take care of your luggage. Next you go to a higher level by some steps or by a nice open air elevator and you arrive at the main reception. This is located in the main building, the restored fish factory. In this building you will find the restaurant, a bar, a small shop and a museum with the machinery of the old factory After a friendly welcome, you go to your room, located in a new building. 56 rooms, 3 floors For us the rooms were a bit disappointing. Yes, the rooms are spacious, with great views on the waterfront, great comfortable bed, large bathroom, lots of storage... But the atmosphere of the restored main building was missing in the room It is a great room, you will find in many upscale hotels, but not what we expected Restaurant is in the main building and is cozy , with a fireplace and dimed light Great food, lots of dishes and friendly staff Since this hotel has 56 rooms, the restaurant may get busy and noisy in main season Also all these people using there smartphones and tablets spoil the atmosphere with the lights of there screen. Please enjoy your dinner and your party and leave the phones in your room Breakfast is great and you have a lot of choice. Bar service was no that good Hotels offers trip close to the place, lr to the NP We did the waterfront trail and the condor trail Both nice and not that difficult You can walk into town by the waterfront in about 45 min TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing hotel with great excursions

May 17th, 2019

Really amazing 3 nights stay at the Singular. Just a note to future traveler it’s bit of a mission getting to Patagonia, first it’s a 3 hour flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas then a 3 hour car ride to Puerto Natales. There are buses you can take from Punta Arenas right at the airport to Puerto Natales then a 10 min taxi to the hotel if you want to save some money. Busses are around $20 Taxi is around $10 to the hotel. this option is much cheaper than the $290 USD one way direct hotel transfer from Punta Arenas airport. There is a good mix of excursions, first day we did discover Torres Del Paine national park, which gave us a great introduction into the area with amazing photo opportunity, would highly recommend this (there is a bit of car ride involved in this though). Second day we did a hike, in hindsight we should’ve chosen another one, we did the Señoret Mountain. The entire trek was off path, and we are fit, but this is definitely another level, you have to fight through branches and thorns. If it was a hike with made path this hike would’ve been very doable. On the 3rd day we did horse riding, we started off catching the boat from their iconic pier before arriving at a ranch that the hotel owns across the peninsula. The horse riding was absolutely amazing. The view you get is so breathtaking! Would highly recommend doing the horse ride too. A note on dining, if you’re staying for more than 3 nights you might get bored of the dinner options. It’s the same menu, and after 3 nights you may run out of new options. The food is very high quality though! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One of the best hotels I´ve been. Extraordinary service mixed with an astonished architecture and a fabulous building history. Every single detail was duly thought to have a meaning in the experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding hotel and restaurant

Apr 25th, 2019

The Singular Patagonia is an outstanding hotel with an amazing restaurant. Our room on the second floor was amazing, with a beautiful view over the lake. The restaurant is a plus, after our stay at the singular we decided to stop over for lunch on our way back from Tdp. Excellent service. This place is a MUST if you are planning to spend some time in Tdp. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
