Great Representation of the Brand

Jan 20th, 2020

I love St. Regis hotels and have stayed with this brand both in and outside of the US. We were in town at the Atlanta St. Regis for just one night and it did not disappoint! What I love the most about the brand is their attention to detail. Although we noticed differences between properties, this particular property hit all of the main marks. Great and attentive butler service when we called, champagne sabering and toast, great bar atmosphere and beautiful property. The only thing that I felt that could have been improved was our check in experience. The bellman never ask to help us with our bags yet walked behind us to the front desk, the front desk person never shared benefits fully with us upon checking in (we know them so we knew what to take advantage of but it would have been helpful) and upon actually getting into the room, the butler never came to introduce themselves, ask if we need anything and show us how to use the technology in the room (in this case it would have been helpful to know how the lighting panels worked). Those little touches are no cost to the property and are something we've seen other St. Regis properties do that cost nothing yet help the guest to have an even better stay. Overall we would stay here again when in Atlanta. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I have stay at the St Regis in NYC and LA many times and the service there was excellent. But the one in Atl was far from excellent. When we arrive no one asks us if you were staying at the hotel nor if we needed any help with luggage. We end up caring our own luggage, no doorman to open the door, and never once did the butler stop by to ask us if we need anything. Breakfast was even worse! We ate at a place upstairs (not sure of the name). We waited forever (45mins). When everyone around us (who sat down after us) got their food. To make matters even worse St Regis atl didn't use real eggs instead use egg substitutes. So disappointed!! Please take down the Christmas decorations. I was there January 4-6 and the Christmas decorations and some little house in the corner were still up. If the decoration was nice I wouldn’t mind but it was hideous. It wasn’t even Christmas colors it looks like Walmart bought ornaments on that big tree.. And it the first time you see as you walk in smh. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Holiday Wedding and Birthday Celebration

Dec 30th, 2019

We share our anniversary with our grands birthday. We decided to try this hotel for our two-part Golden Anniversary Celebration. The staff was helpful, professional and took care of all of our needs. The accommodations were comfortable; however my husband felt that the bed was not his standard of comfort. We ordered room service after the Tea with Santa. The food was appetizing. The child’s tea menu was a joke. My Grand only ate the turkey sandwich and fruit. It was a nice experience, but would not do it again. The Santa skipped our table to go across the room to take group and individual pictures with a large group of adults. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and my Grand is still asking to go back to the pretty hotel! We were a little disappointed that we did not receive any in room courtesies for our Anniversary. We have always received something in our rooms in 4 Star and luxury hotels around the world. This truly the best hotel in Atlanta. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Christmas Visit

Dec 23rd, 2019

There are features of the St. Regis that are beautiful and amazing. There are things that made no sense. We booked Tea with Santa for my wife and daughter and it was very nice. We ordered pizza from a local restaurant because our daughter wanted pizza and they had none on the room service menu, everyone loves pizza? The valet would not let the pizza company park out front to deliver pizza to hotel, had to park across the street in parking lot, and then bring over our cold pizza because they argued with the driver for ten minutes that she couldn’t park there. The room was nice, the “balcony” room is a joke, we paid extra thinking we could sit on balcony, my eight year old daughter could not stand on it, it was basically a railing in front a slinging glass door. We also asked for an upper floor room and got 6th floor overlooking the “residences” whom I assume get the views, disappointing again. The room was nice but not $750 nice, I stayed in a holiday inn last week and the bed was just as comfortable. Our daughter got then Santa and mrs Claus tuck in experience, she was supposed to receive milk and cookies and a signed copy of night before Christmas book. Last year at Avalon she received a very nice signed edition of the book, but at the 5 star St. Regis she received a cheap little kids edition and she did not get the milk for her cookies, just 2 cookies on a plate wrapped in Saran Wrap, again a disappointing experience. Spent an extra $80 to include breakfast, get to breakfast and they don’t have the coconut cream stuffed French toast, they say the are out, I had pancakes with bacon that I could have got at IHOP for $6, not $22? We were very disappointed again, my wife had to have a sandwich off the kids menu since they had nothing else she liked. Wife had orange juice, when empty didn’t bring more, didn’t ask if she wanted more, just took the glass. Bad service, the manager was running around with his shirt half untucked, one button open and his stomach hanging out. Our 8 year old said ugh look at that mom. Explain when you charge $750 for a $200 room you have to gouge me $50 to park my car at night and get it in the morning, ridiculous. We never met or saw a butler?? We spoke to the manager and he did absolutely nothing, obviously customer service is not a priority, ritz Carlton and Avalon would both have made some kind of financial adjustment, I’ll go back to the Ritz in the future, sleep well, have the bananas foster French toast for breakfast and save $500. What a waste of money, there are so many better places to stay in Atlanta and be appreciated as a customer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

St. Regis Atlanta - Impeccably First Class

Dec 9th, 2019

The St. Regis Atlanta, is a stately resort-style luxury hotel in the heart of Buckhead. Although on the fringe of downtown, it's across the promenade from the shops of Buckhead dubbed ' the Beverly Hills of the South' with high-end retailers like Dior, Loubontin and others. This is an affluent area in uptown Atlanta with tree lined streets, beautiful mansions and everything upscale. In this environment, the St. Regis has one good-looking location and is one heck of a hotel supported by it's European styled architecture. A well heeled hotel, the St Regis lays claim to a 'hot spot' bar, destination dining, a pool piazza and a popular spa. As I entered the lobby of the impressive building, I was greeted by 2 gorgeous curved staircases, dazzled by the massive crystal chandeliers and amazed at the glow of the polished hardwood flooring. The soaring ceiling resembled that of a Mediterranean villa, walls looked like those in the country's finest museums displaying French Art Deco, Southern and Modernist pieces making me feel like I was about to stay in an incredibly well-appointed private estate. The lobby is a bustling place, overwrought by locals, guests and others capitalizing on the opulent amenities of the St. Regis. My metropolitan suite was extremely spacious and included: a separate sitting room, decor wrapped in hues of cream and taupe with splashes of cool sage, the warmth of dark wood and gold trim, and all contributing to a residential feel. The boudoir was outfitted with Smart Technology options for temperature, lighting and curtains and other High Tech appliances as well as a perfect petite balcony overlooking the promenade. The Bath was equally spacious with stone covered floors, mirrored marbled double vanity, deep soaking tub, walk-in shower that all combined to impart spa-like comfort. The St. Regis has a fine configuration of dining venues; namely, ALTAS RESTAURANT & BAR: with upscale architecture and decor that is segmented into 5 areas including a private dining space, a walnut panelled bar and lounge, main dining area and cozy library featuring books about the 20th Century and Georgia history. This establishment is embellished with arched ceilings, leather paddled chairs with booths and banquettes patterned in green velvet. The coup de grace; however, is an extraordinary collection of modern art including pieces from the masters like Picasso, Matisse and others. It is only fitting that the Atlas menu, in such cultural company, is somewhat of a work of art unto it's own....and that it is. The innovative fare echoes of Southern dishes with locally sourced ingredients from Georgia farms. Items like Heirloom Tomato Soup, Sorghum Glazed Duck and a sweetie; Southern Corn Cake, are enough to make Picasso's mouth water.....mine too. ATLAS COURT: an elegant spot for a power breakfast and lunch, but it's the afternoon tea, Friday to Sunday that can't be missed. ATLAS TAVERN: is an informal setting where one can enjoy hand-shaken cocktails and chomp on wagyu sliders or other small bites. Ah....the Spa. There is an on-site Remede Spa which is a local and guest favourite facility thanks to an array of treatment rooms and therapy services as well as a retail boutique. I enjoyed a tension-reducing treatment here called the 'Buckhead Escape' that took the kinks out of my muscles after a hectic trip. As a complimentary facility to the Spa, the St. Regis is home to a 40,000 sq. ft. palatial aqua piazza with waterfalls, jacuzzi, monster pool, outdoor fireplace and surrounded by tropical plants giving an oasis feel to the area. In early November, the pool transforms into an ice rink for a few months of winter fun. Service was exceptional. A Butler is assigned to every room and mine seemed to be able to anticipate my needs whether it was unpacking my suitcase or getting me a newspaper. So, if you dream of a luxury hotel, endowed with fantastic food, drink, a relaxing spa and in a plum spot for some 'shop till you drop' therapy.........then try the...................... ...............St. Regis Atlanta....................Impeccably First Class.
