Nice Little Gem in a Great Location

Jul 20th, 2019

First Impression was that the lobby was a bit awkwardly arranged. I quickly got passed that when I got to my room and saw how clean and comfortable it was. I am very allergic so that is very important to me. The room and bathroom was updated and had all the amenities expected. The hotel includes breakfast and it was very good. I had Grapefruit juice, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and English Muffins the three mornings I was there. Everything seemed to be made to order because it came to the table nice and warm (not a buffet) . There were other options. Everybody was very nice and helpful. The front desk was very helpful in giving directions to places, where to exchange US$ for CAD$ on a Sunday, etc. The hotel is very centrally located so we were walking distance to everything. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! PS. I took one star off for two reasons: 1. We were on a long trip so we had three pieces of luggage and various other handhelds. It was not easy to find the door to the hotel and we ended up lugging the luggage through the sidewalk a bit after the taxi left us because what seemed to be the entrance actually was the entrance to a restaurant. Once we found the entrance the ramp to carry up the luggage (the lobby is a step or two up from the entrance) was awkwardly placed and very narrow so it was difficult to navigate the space. I'm sure this space has to do with the historic nature of the hotel. 2. The woman who registered me at the desk asked me to sign a piece of paper and told me that it said that I was signing that I would not smoke in the room. When I read it, it did say that but it also said that they would charge me for a a day if I checked out early. I have no problem if that is their policy, but I have a problem not disclosing everything that I am signing. I pointed this out to her politely but later she did the same thing to another guest as I was walking by. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location is fantastic. Right in middle of downtown. Breakfast was good. Catered for all dietary needs. The restaurant is also nice with happy hour on certain foods and beers. The room size and quality of furnishing was great. The room has large tv with sports etc. The staff on reception were great. The only downside we found was the room smelt really funny. Not sure if it was the air con? For me it is also to expensive but I guess that’s just what you get in downtown Vancouver. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends based on our experience vs cost. Great Stay

Jul 18th, 2019

St Regis Hotel was very central and convenient for our family holiday to Vancouver. The staff were all professional and kind, in particular Gary whom opened doors for us, provided coupons and was always willing to talk to us about the area. Also the staff were willing to help when the mini fridge in our room broke and replaced it quickly and effectively. The breakfast available at the hotel was very good. The staff were great as well however there was one member of staff serving breakfast that did not seem to be enjoying their job. There was one young man who was very helpful and was able to find soy milk for one of my family members. At night the noise on the street would interrupt sleep but this is NOT the hotel’s fault. That is what you will get for staying downtown, city centre. I would like to say a large thank you to the man who helped us bring our bags out to our car and walked with us to the parking building. I very much enjoyed our stay at the St Regis and are very thankful for all the staff’s help. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Vancouver visit

What a wonderful heritage hotel. Front desk was always helpful, opened front door every time leaving.Rooms were very clean, a priority for me, and spacious. Loved the large deep tub to soak in after a full day of walking. Having free internet is very nice. The location of this hotel is perfect. Close to everything that you could need. Many hotels only offer a continental breakfast. The St. Regis provided a full breakfast, free water in room and tea and coffee . Large TV . I have traveled the world to many hotels and this is not a 3star as stated, more like a 4.5 Well done guys keep up the good work. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome! Just awesome!

This is a 107-year-old, heritage-listed building that has been tastefully and thoughtfully restored into a modern hotel. We have stayed in all the big-chain hotels around the world but this is something quite special. Firstly, it's brilliantly located in the heart of the downtown. It is literally a 1-minute walk to the main street, Granville Street, and a 3 minute walk to the massive mall, CF Pacific Centre. It has a very good free breakfast and offers free, unlimited international phone calls. But what makes the real difference is the excellent service. From the friendly, helpful desk staff through to the attentive staff in the dining room and the people who service your room we never received anything other than top class attention. Nothing was too much trouble and it was all done with a genuine smile. We told them we had to leave very early on the last day and they immediately offered us a box breakfast to take away. The little things really do make the difference. We couldn't recommend it more highly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
