Excellent Choice

Jul 21st, 2019

Wonderful historic hotel. Not much needs to be said about this hotel; it's a St. Regis, you know it will be excellent. The room was spacious and luxurious, with a wonderful view of the fountain and ancient Roman baths. Housekeeping was thorough, complementary bottled water, and sweets during turndown service. Helpful, friendly, and professional staff. Wonderful breakfast and bar. Only minor complaint is that the quality of our food from room service felt very overpriced. The pizza seemed very similar to a Chuck-e-cheese pizza. This doesn't detract from the hotel's prestige, though. It's a solid stay. You're in a nice and safe area of town with wonderful restaurants and shops within walking distance, and close to the ancient part of the city. I would definitely stay here again. Expect a Titanium elite Suite Upgrade.... NOT A CHANCE

Jul 18th, 2019

This is admittedly a classic luxury hotel with outstanding food and service. However, with a price point for a standard room hovering around $1000 (US) a night I expected a flawless experience. As a Bonvoy Titanium member I expect the usual upgrade to a superior room or suite... Just to be certain several weeks before check in I exercised my suite upgrade certificate in my account. I receive CONFIRMATION from the hotel a suite upgrade. You can imagine my astonishment when at check in I was told the hotel does not have an obligation to honor the upgrade criteria of the Bonvoy loyalty program.... I was told I would receive an upgrade but not to a suite. Again I was astonished when the "upgraded" room was a standard INTERIOR room with no room and not even a chair. After complaining bitterly TWO days later my room was changed. I was moved to another standard room albeit with a very nice room with an excellent view... The rooms are large but poorly designed with little seating and a tiny desk.... The food in the dining room is outstanding as are the concierge and the complimentary LOCAL transportation service in the hotel Mercedes.t I am afraid the arrogant admitted disregard for Bonvoy Rewards program clearly dampened my enthusiasm for my five day stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pleasant stay

Jul 18th, 2019

We booked through spg and we were upgraded to the royal suite. We had a butler service, 2 items of clothing for ironing daily and complimentary drinks throughout our 2 night stay. The staff are extremely welcoming and cheerful. The concierge recommended an amazing pizza place around the corner. The room was stunning. The breakfast was fantastic! The gentleman making the eggs is very good. They also have a complimentary little car outside which is decorated beautifully. The only downside is our credit card was charged twice. Other than this issue, we had a perfect stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely Exquisite!

Jul 17th, 2019

Only expect an exquisite and luxurious experience here! We arrived having flown in from half way across the world - the flight experience was horrendous (flight delays, missed connections and extended wait times during our layover). We arrived at the hotel early in the morning coming straight from the airport thoroughly exhausted. Imagine our renewed spirit when we arrived at the St. Regis. First of all, thank you to Giancarlo who gave us a warm welcome. The check-in process was especially nice as it was in a separate intimate room where we were invited to sit as Giancarlo took care of our details. Our Hilton Diamond status was acknowledged - but honestly, I think he treats every guest as a valued VIP! He certainly empathized with our situation. After hearing of our travel ordeal, he invited us to have some breakfast while he arranged to put a "rush" to have a room ready for us. What#@$?! Those words - "room ready" gave me such a rush, I was crazy invigorated, which in turn melted away my jetlag! The gesture was unexpected but sincerely appreciated. Thank you Giancarlo! A thank you also goes out to Guillaume, Executive Butler who contacted me by email in advance of our stay. In our communication, I also informed him of our early arrival (but I just did not know it was going to be that early). Such professional and distinguished service is what makes coming to the St.Regis a true pleasure! These are the things that make even a short stay so very memorable. I love the ambience of this St Regis. It is exquisite and classic without being over-the-top. Here, you are surrounded by fine art, antiques and murano chandeliers. You don't have to be a design connoisseur to know the attention to detail abounds. Yet, the environment is inviting - not intimidating or sterile in the least. The breakfast served adjacent to the lobby was divine. The international and varied selections were beautifully presented and the quality was top notch. There's no better way to start your day than this! The room was gorgeous and well appointed. The plush slippers and robes just screamed "vaaaaacaaaation time!" The room furnishings looked fresh and new. The design aesthetic was classic elegance befitting of such a historic hotel. And the bathroom was large and scrumptious! The black and white marble was stunning! This is living!!! While here, do not miss the champagne saber ritual that happens in the evening in the lobby. Guests are invited to participate. If you are not among the chosen few to wield the sword, do not fret - you will still get a complimentary glass of the bubbly to enjoy! Toast to the fact that you are here! The fitness facility was more than adequate. The equipment featured were in excellent condition. Towels, water and gatorade provided. The location of the St Regis is bar none! You are in the center of anywhere you want to be! We walked to a lot of the historical sites...and left many still to see to give us a reason to come back to the Eternal City. But let's face it, everywhere you look is a snapshot of history - every building is representative of stunning architecture! Just take it all in! So here are two things that could use improvement. Since this IS the St. Regis, couldn't they offer softer toilet paper? And, pretty please, can't the St. Regis afford a full glass to cover the shower - why only half a glass? No matter how mindful I am, water still splashes out onto the floor! This has always been a conundrum for me as this seems to be de rigueur in Europe at even the most posh of hoteliers including the St. Regis. But I am not removing any stars for my American quirks. You know what they say..."when in Rome..." If you are reading this - book a reservation and be confident you will have an exquisite experience! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

LOVE The St. Regis Rome

Jul 17th, 2019

We were 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 12). We had two adjoining rooms and the rooms were fantastic. Super clean, well appointed and well-sized for Rome. Super bright and airy. The lobby area is stunning. We love St. Regis properties and this one is top notch. The service from the Concierge to the front desk to housekeeping was incredible. The location is good, a couple of blocks from the main train station (Roma Termini). A great breakfast buffet in the morning with eggs to your making. I believe all of the rooms at this hotel come with the St. Regis Butler services. Came in handy for cappuccinos in the morning, free shoe shine and pressing of a suit I needed. A great touch. Can't wait to return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
