Marvelous 5 night stay July 2 thru July 7 2020

Despite Covid, protesting for Black Lives Matter, this beautiful hotel took very good care of my daughter and me! We appreciated the closure of the front entrance for Black Lives Matter on 16th street. We truly saw “history in the making”. Only private dining however the food was lovely. Everyone wore masks and we felt very comfortable. Will stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wedding Planning DISASTER -- Incompetent, Unprofessional, Enraging

Words cannot express my frustration with the St. Regis, DC. After communicating regularly with event staff, reaching a verbal agreement, and being ready to put down my deposit (3 months before my wedding), the staff ignored me for more than a month and forgot who I was. After several initial calls and email exchanges with the Catering and Event manager during which he forgot our meeting times and my name (more than twice), I sent over my finalized plan for the event and was ready to pay after receiving a complete estimate. Our last exchange was on a Friday and the projected date to confirm our booking was the next Monday (3 days). However, I was ignored for over a month by all members of staff that I had been in contact with. Despite my repeated efforts to communicate with the front desk and event staff, the Event and Catering manager was "unreachable". I eventually spoke to the General Manager of the hotel, who put me on the phone with the Event and Catering Manager within minutes. This demonstrated a severe lack of professionalism and communication within the hotel a the most basic level. The Event and Catering Manager did not remember me or my event, even with prompting. He then called me back to ask that I resend ALL of our previous correspondence because he could not locate it in his inbox. About ten minutes later he called me back to tell me that he had finally located the many emails. This unprofessionalism was infuriating to someone who was merely a few months from the wedding date. I wish I could post email and phone records to verify the lack of competency of the entire St. Regis, DC staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Customer Service in Challenging Times

In just a five-minute walk from the White House, the St. Regis, Washington D.C. stands out as a regal, elegant hotel in the D.C. area. We were more than lucky to stay in this hotel during the month of May and cannot thank them enough for the work that each St. Regis team member did during this pandemic. Being a Titanium elite member through Marriott Bonvoy, I felt that we were more than appreciated prior and during the stay. Prior to arrival, I was able to get all the current hotel’s guidelines due to COVID-19 and coordinate any details regarding our stay through the Marriott Bonvoy application. This made it easy for them to avoid as much as possible direct contact and expedite the check in process. A summary of the existing guidelines include: wearing masks when visiting public areas, gatherings of more than six people in the lobby is prohibited, front doors locked from 8 PM to 5 PM, may opt out of housekeeping service or coordinate with front desk the service (while being out of the room), private dining only from 6 AM to 11 PM daily to name a few. Once we got to the suite, the St. Regis Suite provided a comfortable space for us to desensitize and enjoy our time away from reality. Approximately 1000 sq. ft, the suite provides all the comfort for a short or long term stay in D.C. In addition, the bathroom is quite spacious, and the tub is quite worth it in every single level. We took advantage of private dining, and all precautions were taken by the hotel to not only protect their employees, but guests as well in each interaction/transaction. Special thanks to Ramon for his assistance during this stay and the rest of the St. Regis team in Washington D.C. for being so accommodating, going above and beyond in customer service, and making us feel safe. Another Great Stay at the St Regis

Another Great Stay at the St Regis In June, we were back to Washington, DC, as my wife had meetings on Capital Hill. For about the 4th, or 5th time, we stayed at the St Regis, 923 16th St NW, and once more, had a lovely business stay. We were greeted by the reservations agent, and because of our BonVoy status, were upgraded to Room 415. This was on the front of the building, overlooking 16th St, but we had stayed in these rooms before, once on the second floor, and once next door, on the fourth, so we knew the room, and its general orientation. We also knew that in the past, we had not encountered any nosie, from the street below. Our room had a very comfortable King bed, a small desk, a “wardrobe wall” with: closets, drawers, a mini-bar, safe and flat-screen TV - this is common in these St Regis rooms. The bathroom is on the small side, but adequate, and the single sink had a small vanity, so not much horizontal space for our cosmetics. It also had a combo tub/shower, which is not ideal for my wife, with two artificial hips. We had a full amenity kit w/ very nice St Regis Remède products. In the closet, there was an iron, w/ ironing board, and a full valet box, with clothes brushes, etc. Complimentary shoeshines are available, I took advantage of that service. On the desk, we had several AC outlets, so charging devices was not an issue. As stated, this room overlooked 16th NW, but it was very quiet, and we heard no street noise, or any noise from within the hotel. This was a fairly quick stay, with just one meeting, that had to be postponed from our trip, only over a month before, but the stay was very nice, and we have always found the St Regis to be very conveniently located. We will definitely return to this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay

Hotel location is good, a few minutes walk to the White House. The lobby is beautiful. The breakfast is also good, but pricey. The room is a bit small, but decorated in a nostalgic style, the lighting is a bit dark and there is no bathtub. Very phenomenal service, I’d say it’s one of my favourite hotels in North America.
