Stay at the Ritz.

Jan 11th, 2020

While it looks nice on the outside, it's old and worn down on the inside. The bed was like sleeping on a brick. The room was either freezing or boiling no matter how much we tried to adjust the thermostat. The security chain latch had been broken and was repaired by screwing a board directly to the door and reattaching the latch. It just looked cheap. The wallpaper was peeling off in several places. The room service breakfast was cold with very runny scrambled eggs. The granola was mostly fruit puree with only three pieces of granola in the bowl. The coffee tasted like it was from a pot that was left overnight. When I complained to management, I was told that they would look into it and that was the last I heard of it. Also, there is no coffee machine in the room, so you'll have to wait about half an hour to get some. The Ritz at least has a Nespresso machine in the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Grandeur in The District

Jan 5th, 2020

There are only a handful in the world and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. Steps from the all the DC sites and make sure to check out the special event at 6pm in bar/lobby! Five star service hands down TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel, great stay

Jan 4th, 2020

We stayed here for two nights just after Christmas and it was lovely. The hotel’s decorations were beautiful and added to the experience. The gingerbread house was exacting and impressive. Check in was great with Ayesha welcoming us for our anniversary. She was friendly and fun to talk to. She took good care of us and sent us a bottle of wine and a lovely note. Thanks, Ayesha! The breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant was good. Smallish portions, but always tasty. The bar had good service and makes a good drink. We also enjoyed the nightly champagne sabering with free champagne after! Our room was small, as they are with many older and city properties, but beautifully appointed and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Valet parking is expensive - $64 a night - even more than many other city hotels I have stayed at, but perhaps it is on par with other Washington DC hotels of this caliber - not sure. Easy walk down to the mall. Easy bus service or cab to Georgetown. We would stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Gorgeous - Simply Gorgeous!

Jan 3rd, 2020

I've stayed at some elegant hotels in the DC area before, but the St. Regis beats them all. From the moment you walk in, you will say WOW. It might be tricky to find the check-in desk at first, but the moment you find them, you are greeted with a warm welcome. I enjoyed the live music in the lobby when I arrived on a Thursday evening. Afterwards, I finally made it to my room and that was another WOW. Gorgeous room! I enjoyed the touch of returning from work each evening and the radio turned on with some smoothing music. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the White House and you have plenty of dining options around the K street corridor. The McPherson metro station is also nearby, less than 3 minute walk if you prefer to use the DC subway system. My entire stay was just perfection. I was so happy that this hotel was within the USG rate before the holidays. Looking forward to returning back in 2020. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed my stay! Loved the staff!

Dec 31st, 2019

I just spent the last two nights here and I was in heaven! Comfortable room, bed with nice toiletries. The attentive staff saw to all of our needs and were so kind. Both of the concierges were knowledgeable and got us into the restaurants we wanted to go to and the sights that we wanted to see. The lobby waiter, Stefanio, in particular helped us relax and have fun. He brought me a bowl of the best popcorn! The lobby was beautiful and was decorated for the holidays. This stately old building is elegant and close to the monuments and White House. I will stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
