Can’t Believe this is a Hyatt Property
Jul 28th, 2020
Pros: Location-on the Gold Coast near Water Tower and Oak Street Price- found a great AAA deal Responsive Staff Cons: Nothing about this is a Hyatt. Had no curling iron, mouthwash, coffee maker, and other basics available to guests. It’s actually noisier here than staying in Streeterville with ambulances. No desk to do work or set your laptop on. This isn’t all about covid either. Expect though to have no access to an onsite restaurant. The fitness center is sign up only for 45 minutes at a time. No valet parking so you’re going to need to find a place yourself. And no room service- so similar to other places we requested our daily supplies, changed our own sheets, threw out linens and collected our garbage daily. What I think is wrong is we are charged a nightly “urban amenity fee of $17 per night PLUS taxes of $3.96 tied to this urban fee.” This fee is supposed to cover “Tea and premium locally roasted coffee in the lobby from 6:30am-11am daily, Premium high speed wifi, State-of-the-art fitness room with Peloton Bike and Flowater purified water refill station, Digital access to New York Times, Unlimited local & 800 calls, Access to exclusive discounts at neighborhood boutiques, spas and fitness studios, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago-20% off museum store purchases, Tails in the City-swanky supply store for cats and dogs, Trendy Salon Buzz-preferred appointment times, Les Cles D'or concierge access, PETS Stay - Pets stay free program.” Half of these things Hyatt Rewards Explorist and Discoverist members receive anyway. I had to remind staff for access to these things. But it fell way short. But given Covid why are you still charging for this? And you didn’t even have basic amenities like mouthwash, curling iron, coffee maker that every Hyatt I’ve been to over the past years have had. I’d redirect this fee to service guests in this way instead of this fake extra charge. Who uses a hotel phone anymore? Plus realize due to Covid you’re cleaning your own rooms so basically losing out on that service too but no “credit or reduced prices” is given to guests for losing out on room services. I’m not coming back given all the other great Hyatt properties in town. If you’re fine with this then by all means stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Location in Center Chicago
Mar 17th, 2020
I have booked The Talbott hotel after doing many reviews and comparisons. The room I booked was a 2 queen beds as and it was massive, I am sure it is very difficult to find such size in mid-Chicago. The location is central with many things to do nearby, within 10-15 mins walking. The lift is a bit slow but no big deal. Will definitely consider staying there again if in central Chicago TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
3 days at the Talbot in Chicago

Great, central location meaning you can walk to so many places of interest if you choose to. The Hotel is quaint with a convenient restaurant and lounge on the ground floor where reception is also found although initially it is difficult to find. We found all 3 employees who manned the help desk went the extra mile. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Fantastic Hotel Near The Mag Mile!
Mar 14th, 2020
We’ve stayed at other hotels for twice the price around the same area and found this one to outshine them all. Where old world charm meets modern design aesthetics! Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Will stay here for our future business trips. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is only a block couple of blocks west of shops of North Michigan Avenue and walkable to excellent restaurants in the area! Very pleased! Thank you TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everything was perfect. However, the room size was a little too small for me to be comfortable. The check-in was very proper and communication was passed down the proper channels because I had a unique problem when checking in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
