Dated Room not clean

Oct 28th, 2020

We recently visited Lakeland and spent 4 days at this hotel. I wish this hotel were as good as the local restaurants, it is not. We stayed in suite 5. On the plus side this is a great location, the room was large with a great view of the lake. On the minuses it is very dated, rug buckled throughout, stains on ceiling, no housekeeping Most of the staff was friendly and professional, but the office manager, Brenda, should not be in the customer service business. Somehow, this hotel has decided that not cleaning rooms is the answer to preventing the spread of Covid. Not one time in 4 days did we see anyone cleaning touchpoints (as stated in Expedia), every morning we saw cheap little breakfast pastries left on a coffee table unattended and not even protected by a sneeze guard. One morning my wife saw a vagrant come in and help himself to said pastries. Since no cleaning also no clean towels or removal of dirty towels, so every time towels were needed you had to call to have them brought up. Will not be staying here again and I recommend the same for you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location If youre in town to Party

Oct 24th, 2020

The area is rich with night life; Bars, restaurants, etc. All within walking distance. If that's your thing, enjoy! However... If you would like a quiet place to rest after a long journey, or you need a good nights sleep before that important, 8:00 AM meeting, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.; As the bars begin to empty between midnight and 2:00AM, the street in front of the hotel basically turns into a miniature cruise strip. It gets flooded with people on foot, in cars, on motorcycles. Lots of loud music, screaming, etc. Kind of reminds me of Panama City Beach during spring break. It would be awesome if that's what you were in town for. In short, it's great location if you're a party animal. I was in town o business and needed a good nights rest. Not a good fit for me. I realize that the the hotel has little if any control over what happens outside. However, what happens outside (late night noise and lot's of it) can affect sleep quality. If you like to PAAAARRTY,!!! this is the place for you. If you need a quiet place to rest, look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Service was great food was ok

Jul 26th, 2020

My family and I, a group of four, had dinner on 7/25/20 in the restaurant in the Terrace Hotel. Kelsey our server was great, she was friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the dining room is always perfect. My first issue was while we were sitting at our table, someone who was not dining there was allowed to do a sort of photo shoot. Do this during the hours the restaurant isn't open. Don't allow someone to stand in the walkways and do photos. The goat cheese salad was great but very small, maybe 2 or 3 leaves of bib lettuce, with half of a banana, a goat cheese ball, and one or two macadamia nuts. The meals weren't the quality I expected. My wife had the filet, she said it was under seasoned, and the cauliflower potato gratin looked nice but was ok. My dad said his lamb was tough and stringy, he has had the lamb there many times before and likes it. I had the pecan crusted tuna, first the tuna wasn't fresh. Spring rolls were very good and I don't typically like spring rolls. My dad did say something about his lamb and they removed it from the bill, neither my wife or myself said anything about our meals. I would have expected to manager to come to the table to talk to my dad about his lamb but never saw the manger even walk through the dining room. The menu is kind of boring, the appetizers have some flair, the main courses seems to be boring. Offer a menu that stands out from the rest not offer similar meals. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable stay

May 27th, 2020

Spent one night here and would definitely be back if in the area again. The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The valet parking was not operating when we arrived, so we were told to self park in the lot next to the hotel (prefer self parking anyway). Unfortunately, it rained during our stay, but the view of the surrounding area was beautiful. The hotel overlooks a little park that I'm sure is very nice on a sunny day. Only downside to our stay was that we were put in a room next to a family with a very young infant. 1am, 2am, 3am, and so on, the infant's screaming woke us during the night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
