Lovely hotel in the historic area

Feb 14th, 2020

We stayed here for two nights shortly before Christmas 2019. This was our first time in Galveston and the location of this hotel could not have been better for us and the time of year. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the staff were all very welcoming and efficient. The small cafe has good, healthy food choices without being expensive. We tried breakfast on day (not included in room rates) and lunch on another. You can walk to shops, sights, cafes and restaurants and, if energetic, to the beach. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quaint Galveston Hotel

Feb 14th, 2020

Traveled to Galveston for the birth of my grandson. I picked The Tremont Hotel due to it only being 1.4 mile from hospital. The hotel is breath taking. It is old but had a very quaint atmosphere. The bedroom I stayed in (#238) had 2 queens (very comfortable), 15 foot or so ceilings and a hidden bar with mirror and sink. Room was very large. Lobby bar was great, rooftop bar was closed due to rainy weather. From the hotel you can walk to the Strand which has numerous shops, bars and a confectionary. Valet parking only, but that was OK. Sometimes it is nice to feel pampered. There is rumor of ghosts haunting the hotel, but we didn't encounter any spirits on our stay. I will definitely stay at the Tremont again! Pleasant Stay

Feb 12th, 2020

The interior spaces are visually attractive, understated, elegant. The staff is efficient if lacking in warmth. It is nice to have an option in Galveston that doesn’t feel “cookie cutter”. The trend toward spaces devoid of any personality is not a trend that makes me want to stay elsewhere in Galveston, so I choose to pay the premium prices at The Tremont House knowing that the other options are not worth the “savings”. Wonderful visit to Galveston and the Tremont House

We had a wonderful visit to Galveston. We stayed at the Tremont House and loved it. The staff was so kind and friendly. Be sure to visit their Rooftop Bar, great view of the sunset and great cocktails. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Probably better choices

Feb 7th, 2020

On a mother daughter group trip, we chose this lovely old hotel for the history, beauty and the shuttle to the cruise terminal. Yes, we’d done research and knew it was haunted ( none of us had any encounters). The bathroom was way small, and the shower head was too low and I am 5’2”! If you’re needing a good nights sleep there’s a lot of noise as the rooms overlook the bar. The location and staff make it a stand out and if you like the stately older high ceiling rooms, it’s fine. Breakfast cafe not a great choice for such a dramatic hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
