Great Bleisure trip

Mar 22nd, 2020

A perfect location for a mix of business and pleasure. The staff were great the bar downstairs was nice and the location was perfect for everything that I needed. I always enjoyed traveling to the gaslamp and specifically enjoyed this trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing!

Beautiful clean and food was great! A short walk to the water . Great coffee shop next door too. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. We also had a dinner and a breakfast voucher which was very nice. We felt safe in the area it is located in. The staff was very hospitable TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lux, historic hotel with a lovely staff.

Feb 20th, 2020

Splurge for a room with some kind of view - we were only there one night so didn't bother. Ended up with a view directly into all of the hotel rooms across the U-shaped building, which meant we had to keep curtains closed even in the middle of the afternoon (stuck in the room because of napping 3yo) or else we'd literally be watching people getting into the shower across the way. Doesn't make for a very pleasant environment. The hotel is gorgeous and lux and walkable to lots of food and drink, though it's on the edge of the Gaslamp District, not in the heart of it, so the walk could be several blocks. All in all a good experience for a quick stop while we checked out the zoo on the way to LegoLand. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Visit

Feb 18th, 2020

Had a great visit to the US GRANT for a long weekend. Connecting rooms afforded fun for parents and kids. Truly a high service staff. Concierge staff, particularly Lee Ann, were excellent and proactive. She reached out to us a week in advance to advise of a tight dinner reservation situation and provided a number of great suggestions. Cool hotel! Downtown/City location. Walking distance to Gas Lamp quarter. A further walk to USS Midway. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing hotel but might not be best with toddlers

Feb 18th, 2020

Although I didn't give the US Grant Hotel 5 stars it is truely AMAZING. I must caveat I went with a toddler and with that in mind, I may not book it again if I was with a toddler, but would 100000% book it again if I came without a toddler. First, the entire concierge staff were incredible and went above and beyond anything I expected (from a US Marriott anyway). The location is extremely convenient and the hotel itself oozes class and character. The rooms are beautiful - I was in a standard king room and the walls were paneled! As a Platinum member, the breakfast at the Grant Grill which was also amazing. Now onto the bad stuff. Again, I must mention this is because I traveled with a toddler so may not apply to every ready. 1. There are very few rooms with tubs and I was not fortunate enough to get one of those rooms. 2. The bathroom doesn't blackout so if you are in a standard room and use to putting the toddler asleep in a separate room, this is not really an option if your toddler is sensitive to light. 3. There was significant construction across the street as of Feb 2020 and if you are on a lower floor, you can hear the trucks early in the morning. Again, I would recommend this hotel to everyone travelling without a toddler in a heartbeat but would warn parents if there is a toddler. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
