Amazing

May 23rd, 2019

If you get the chance to go to Long Beach do not miss staying at the Varden. The staff genuinely provided amazing service, the setting and overall atmosphere is truly unique. I was there on a business trip and the Varden was a delightful refuge from the convention center and the huge cookie cutter hotels. It was the perfect stay. Thank you, Varden! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent service in a Boutique Hotel

May 21st, 2019

This was a great little hotel with out standing service. The rooms are Boutique size but it is extremely clean with a staff that any Hotel would kill for. This hotel staff makes you feel right at home. The location is close to many great local restaurants. I was there for business so it was perfect for me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great boutique hotel

Apr 29th, 2019

Rooms are always clean, wine and snacks (and conversations with other guests) are great way to wind down in the evening. Staff is always warm and welcoming. Great place to stay, convenient to shops, restaurants, and all of downtown. Don't come expecting a huge room. Part of what I like about The Varden Hotel is it's unique style. The rooms, though small, provide everything you need. Besides, with a great town like Long Beach who wants to spend a bunch of time in the room? Tell Larry and the team hi from me! A Hotel Out Of Time

Apr 26th, 2019

The staff was quite helpful and the place grew on me. Definitely not your cookie cutter chain hotel and a refuge from the Convention Center. They had a free wine tasting at night that looked nice. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that Hunter S Thompson stayed there back in the day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A gem in Long Beach

Apr 20th, 2019

Feels somewhere inbetween grandma’s house and a first class ocean cruise. Staff is fantastic, you feel like they’re all friends. Rooms are tiny but clean with first class linens and towels, everything works. I’m usually alone when I travel so bed size is not an issue, may not work for some couples. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
