Old, But Amazing Hotel
Oct 21st, 2020
Just before the pandemic/COVID19 got into full swing. Me(Darryll) and my 3 Bro-In-Laws traveled to LA from Chicago, Brooklyn and Richmond(2). We had planned, arranged, and booked our trip during the Christmas holidays. We stayed here due to it was walking distance from our destination - Lakers vs Clippers, hellYea the Lakers won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, the hotel, this place was pretty darn amazing for an older facility. It consist of 4 color coded towers, we were in the yellow tower, 40-something-floor, with a pretty impressive view. Just ask for a view. - it had everything you need to-live there for months. - it has an entire floor with restaurants, stores, shopping - the whole9 - a barbershop/salon - a few bars, which we did drink from them all Overall this place is the the bomb for a stay where you have it all. So if you want a cool sot to stay and you are in LA for a few days for a game, stay here. Leave the hotel walking (make a left out the front door) and walk 6 to 8 bock or until you run smack dab into the Staples Center. Train station 3 and 5 blocks away - catch the train to go hang out in Hollywood, we did, 3 times. You will not be disappointed. RECOMMENDED!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice hotel but understaffed

The Checkin line was ridiculously long about 10 people deep and two agents available. Valet parking was a nightmare. There had to be 15 people waiting and the guys were going non stop. It was way too crowded for 945 am. Our room was nice and clean with a good view on the 28th floor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had a beautiful suite with the most comfortable bed. Clean and updated. It’s nice there are places to eat inside the hotel that are not expensive, from pizza to pho for a quick bite. Also Starbucks on site :) We had a wonderful time TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Petri Dish for COVID19
Sep 29th, 2020
Just returned from a 3-day business trip. I've stayed in Westin Hotels before, and after reading their website and the steps taken in light of COVD19, I thought it would be okay. Stay was very polite, but beyond that...What a Mistake!! The lobby area is good. Relatively clean and well maintained. The nightmare is everything after that. First thing was that I was informed that the A/C was just being repaired. Then was told there would be no housekeeping, unless specifically requested. Okay, I could deal with that - it was only 3-days. Elevators were dirty. The same piece of paper was on the floor of the elevator the entire time. Hallway carpets are old, stained, and dirty. The first room they gave me was dirty e.g., dust, smudges on the mirrors, crusty particles on the chairs, etc. After sterilizing it with Clorox wipes (which to be fair I do anyway, even before COVID 19), came to find out that none of the electrical outlets worked, and had no hairdryer. Move to the another room. This time I checked the outlets first. They worked, and there was a hair dryer! Unfortunately, that was the only good thing. Same dirty room (literally 1" of dust of the head board), dirty carpet, dirty everything. Gross!! You only get 2 towels, no toiletries. Dirty towels are left in a plastic bag outside the room for pickup, along with the garbage (food, bottles, etc.) I could live with that as well, if they would come around and pick it up more than once per day. One restaurant was open, as well as the 24 hour Café in the lobby. Outside the hotel, many homeless people, no security. I'm thankful that I only had to go across the street for business.
