Not like it used to be

Aug 1st, 2020

This hotel and area are just done. Lenox mall is no longer a safe place to be after dark and the surrounding shops mostly close at 5. The walls in the hotel are super thin and the noise kept me up all night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Disappointment, Even for Challenging Times

Jul 26th, 2020

I get it that it’s not easy to operate normally in these tough times. Still, I felt like the Westin Buckhead was much better at looking at what they couldn’t do rather than thinking about what they could. For example, no robes in room. They said their robe processor was closed. And while there was the standard coffee maker/packs in the room, there was no creamer, liquid or powder, no sweetener, and no stirrer, etc. They said they were waiting for an order to be delivered. Also, no breakfast, and no attempt to compensate with a pre-made bag with yogurt, OJ, muffin, etc., as many much lower level hotels do? Here’s a thought, if adequate coffee service isn’t available in the room, how about getting a couple of pots from the restaurant or coffee shop across the street and put them in the lobby for customers. Or send someone down to Costco for some creamers, etc. until the shipment arrives. Wash robes in the hotel, and if that’s not possible, how about giving a couple of bottles of water and maybe a snack at check in? Or extra points to compensate for services not available. Housekeeping did not put a shampoo in the room, but they delivered one quickly when it we asked. Oddly, all the cups in the room, plastic and coffee, were unwrapped. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any hotel provide unwrapped plastic cups. The room was comfortable, the air conditioning was great, as were the blackout curtains, but everything service and amenity related was a disappointment. I have stayed at a Renaissance and different Westin in recent weeks and both did a much better job. With a little effort they could have provided a better experience, but they seem satisfied to let mediocrity happen. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dated. Not worth $$

May 8th, 2020

Hotel is in need of an update. Very dated. Bed was great, however, could not sleep. Walls are very thin and can hear everything in between rooms. Dealt with someone’s TV on all night. After, hotel stay, and parking cost I hope there are better options in the North Buckhead area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Staff!!

Mar 20th, 2020

I usually do not write reviews, but after the experience(s) that I had with this hotel staff, I feel that it is necessary. I checked into the Westin on March the 11th and checked out on the 15th, and I stayed in room 1722. Upon check-in, I was greeted by a wonderful young lady (her name escapes me at the moment) who was extremely personable, and assisted me with any questions that I had. She also gave me suggestions about good restaurants that my colleague and I may be interested in visiting since I told her that we were there for an academic conference and that it was our first visit to Atlanta. I really appreciated her welcoming presence, and that welcoming and helpful nature was even more present during the night shift. I stopped by the front desk late one evening to inquire about a phone charger, as I had misplaced mine. Quintin (sp?), the night shift worker, told me where I could find one the next day because everything was closed by that time. After showing him the type of charger that I needed, he offered me his personal charger to use. While this act alone is commendable because he was not required to help me in that way, it was especially important to me because I have to be available to my mother’s caretaker at all times in case of emergency. He also suggested a plethora of sites/restaurants that I may be interested in visiting and he genuinely seemed interested in making my stay better. Overall, this staff’s hospitality made me feel welcomed, and upon my next trip to Atlanta, I will definitely stay at the Westin based on their merits. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Why would the bar shut at 10?

Mar 14th, 2020

I get the place doesn't want to stay open late, but how can they not have soft drinks for sale? I've never been to a hotel that doesn't have at least a small fridge with drinks, and this is a really large hotel. Will not be revisiting.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
