Corey and Kristin!
Jul 19th, 2019
Corey checked me in and was as polite and helpful as he could be. Kristin, working next to him, was extremely personable and welcoming also. Beautiful hotel! And the staff is great. Daniel brought us extra sheets and even offered to make the bed. Wonderful staff! Will stay again thanks to them. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Surprisingly slow service
Jul 14th, 2019
Beautiful hotel in downtown Charlotte close to convention center. Bell hops readily available upon check-in. Microwave requested at check-in at approx 4:00 pm. “Not a problem” per man at desk, they “have one available and will send one right up.” An hour later, still not delivered. I called the front desk. No problem, will send one up. Another hour later and I called, one was finally delivered at 7:30pm. Housekeeping didn’t come on our second day. We called and they came at 4:00pm. Day three, housekeeping came but took our open soap bars and didn’t leave new ones. I’m surprised. Westin is such a typical high quality place. They must have had an off-week, I’m guessing they were understaffed for such a busy weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
3 Nights, High Floor, Good Stay
Jul 12th, 2019
I’ve been reading reviews today about how the higher floors are better for sound and view. I guess that it was fortunate that “high floor” is in my Gold Elite profile. My stay at the Westin was pretty darn good. The attached parking garage was a virtual maze too get to the hotel lobby and elevators, but that’s my only negative. The lobby was expansive and full of energy. The staff were professional. There were multiple elevators and I never waited too long in my frequent comings and going over a three day stay. The hallways were clean, cold, and had the smell of a Ritz Carlton. Hard to put that one into words, but smell can be a powerful reminder of a good past experience. The room was very clean. Great big TV, excellent views, no street noise, and the bathroom was well appointed with the extras that you expect from a Westin. Even the in-room coffee was pretty good with the provided bottled water. You can stop reading now and go to the next review. I will rebook here on my next trip. No doubt. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Subpar experience at best

Our family was here for a convention and I requested our room be changed to a suite. I was told by someone on property that because our rooms were booked in a block that she was unable to change it but she made a note and it wouldn't be a problem to have a suite. I hesitated but got her name and reconfirmed that information and was reassured a second time. However, when we checked in no suites were available so I had to pay for an additional room. That was frustrating and an unnecessary expense. Upon checkin we noticed both rooms were warm and stuffy. In fact, when you step off the elevator onto the 25th floor the hot air immediately hits you in the face. It's suffocating and I knew that wasn't a good sign. We dropped off our stuff quickly, turned the AC down and came back much later only to realize that the room was still very warm and stuffy. At that point, it was too late to have someone come to our room so I requested service the next day. The maintenance tech said the air coming out of the vent was the same as the thermostat and all was okay. The air coming out of the vent should be degrees colder than the thermostat setting so that explains why our room was so warm. He said he would check the coolant but I never heard back from anyone. I explained this at checkout and was given a discount for one night. I reached back out to ask them to apply it to the whole stay considering the entire trip was inconvenienced but they have not responded to me. Also, the common convention areas were also hot and we also notified the front desk but again no change. The carpet in our rooms and the common areas needs to be replaced. Also, the bar struggled to keep up with food orders and wasn't staffed appropriately. Need a bellman to check out? Good luck with that! There were 3 people staffed for Sunday morning so we had to take our own luggage out. They would not allow us to get a cart on our own which was frustrating. The hotel is in a great location and the restaurant on site had great food! We also had a phenomenal waitress for breakfast on Saturday. However, be prepared to pay $5 for a single soda so plan accordingly. Westin Charlotte, you have a lot going for you. You are in a great location, comfortable beds with a great restaurant. However, you need to staff appropriately and treat your customers like you care if they return. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Where’s the pool?
Jul 7th, 2019
Pretty standard for a Westin but was disappointed by the small indoor pool and sun deck. Location good for eateries. Service was good. Parking fee to use their deck. Tried out the exercise room and Peloton bikes-nice feature. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
