Amazing hotel right opposite the Bank of America Building

May 25th, 2020

I would give it 4.5 stars out of 5 but TripAdvisor doesn’t allow it. The Westin downtown is a former office building converted to a hotel. In fact, a few of the floors are still occupied by offices. Location is great with amazing restaurants and fast food outlets nearby. Plus the views from the higher floors are amazing. I visited on the 4th of July holiday and was able to observe the fireworks from the top floor indoor pool. My room was on the 24th floor so views were amazing. It is important to mention that I was upgraded to a bigger room due to Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status. The first room I was assigned was having a slight fresh paint smell so they immediately changed the room and offered free breakfast coupons for all the 3 days of my stay. I’d have to give 5 stars for the customer service. Totally friendly, responsive and not intrusive. Room was really spacious with all modern amenities, 55 inch tv, bathtub and much more. It was definitely one of the best rooms I have stayed in, in America. Bed was really comfortable and they even changed the pillows to non-feather due to my preferences. Breakfast was great as well. I had a good number or options inspite of being a vegetarian. Hat tip to the in-room dining team. They were able to customize the dishes as per my preferences and even remade one when I didn’t like it. Again great customer service. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to visit Dallas. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great view, service needs improvement

Mar 10th, 2020

Good location (next to Reunion Tower, Aquarium, walking areas), great view (stayed on floor 26), nice pool and gym with view of the city (36th floor). The hotel is modern looking, nice rooms, and areas but needs more service (had too call twice for room service and found food on a hallway that stood there the whole day plus under the couch there was food and I never ate in my room). Charged my card twice

Mar 6th, 2020

Have stayed here for past 3 years while in town for NCA. Check your bill and your credit card. The hotel charged my bank card twice. Several calls later they have not been able to explain and accounting has not returned my call. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Johnathan at check-in is AMAZING!

Mar 3rd, 2020

Had an original reservation at the Fairmont Dallas but upon arriving, I found out there was a water main break that affected my room. The staff was very helpful in calling and creating a new reservation at the Westin Downtown which exceeded my expectations. When I arrived, I checked-in with Jonathan who provided many good tips on things to do in the area and good food options. Also, he made sure I had a great room away from all the young cheerleaders in town for the National Cheerleading Competition. Didn't ask for it but it was very much appreciated since I was here for work and needed a good night's sleep. He also made sure I got my free breakfast as a Bonvoy Elite member which I also appreciated. Overall, I had an excellent stay! I travel a lot for work and this was one of the most memorable trips in a very good way :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not up to Westin Standards

Feb 17th, 2020

I had to go to Dallas for a business trip and decided to splurge on a corner Trinity Suite to enjoy a little luxury in the middle of work. I liked that they had East self parking and they kindly let me do an early check in. Unfortunately the room and hotel wasn’t quite what I expected. The views from the street are magnificent for Dallas standards and the light show from reunion tower was fun to watch during a magnificent sunset. But the room seemed a little worn. The bathroom was expensive and well appointed but there was a bad water stain and peeling wood, no room service menu and a filthy remote with an old nasty sticker someone had left from a previous stay. I was disappointed that there were no provisions in the mini bar, no bottled water and unfortunately when I went to turn in for the night, my bed was anything but Heavenly. The sheets were not properly tucked in and I wish I had smellavision because the pillows, all four of them, smelled really old and dirty. Sleeping on filthy smelling pillows that reek of someone’s greasy hair did not make for a good night sleep. The whole bedroom was rather musty and even though we were on the 27th floor, street noise interrupted a peaceful sleep. So I paid a small fortune to get no rest and be really repulsed by the filthy pillows. The restaurant was also a huge letdown. Service was slow and our salad and burger were poorly presented and not very tasty. Breakfast buffet was not impressive and they refuse to cook bacon crispy as ordered! We ordered bottled sparkling water and the waitress brought it served over a Dallas municipal water ice cubes. That’s a big no-no. Tie escalators were not working and we tried NOLA and the drinks were pretty good, but food was greasy and unappetizing. We did enjoy some snacks down the street at the Woolworth where I hosted a large event. Overall I paid a handsome sum for a terrific view and bathtub. Great room for a hotel party but not so much for a peaceful respite after a long day of travel and work. I usually stay at the W hotel or Westin Galleria and this location did not meet the standards I’m accustomed to with the Westin brand. Save your money and stay elsewhere if you want a stellar suite experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
