The Westin HHI is our go to beach destination. Great property, food, and service. Their COVID safety protocol is great. 3 nice pools fit anyone’s needs and right on the beach. Special thanks to Alex and Jason for going above and beyond on service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We live in SC and like to enjoy last-minute trips down to the coast of SC. This was our first time trying the Westin after recently staying at the Omni in Hilton Head. Both are pretty similar in quality and amenities. I'm Bonvoy Platinum Elite now (was Titanium but lost status due to lack of travel during Covid), and I made the decision to go ahead and pay for the oceanfront room rather than hope to be upgraded from oceanview. I recommended others with Bonvoy status do the same thing, as there are a whole lot more oceanview rooms than oceanfront, and the oceanview ones can vary a lot from pretty nice views to partially obstructed ones. It's a gamble. I get the impression there isn't a whole lot of free upgrading going on for status. We did get the free breakfast coupons for the Bonvoy status perk, and breakfast was great both days. (We appreciated the option to eat outside, because we're trying to avoid indoor dining during Covid.) We had made massage appointments at the Westin Spa and enjoyed it so much that we made pedicure appointments the next day. Because of Covid, the steam room, sauna, and whirlpool in the men's and women's lounges were closed. (Another spa I went to gave a 10% discount to make up for the closures of similar amenities, but no discount here.) Nick was my massage therapist for a deep tissue massage (and it was fabulous), and we had equally great pedicures from Samantha and Aaliyah. We enjoyed some time at the pool area but missed the adult-only pool option that Omni had. There are a few different pool options; one is under an overhang so is shaded, which is nice. We noticed that the yellow pool towels were pretty ragged and in need of replacements. On the positive side, the pool food/drink servers were hard working and attentive. The room was fine -- pretty standard Westin. It could use some refreshing. We noticed some of the lampshades had stains on them and the room showed some wear and tear. I really liked having a balcony, and I always like the Westin showers.. As others have said, there is a pretty long walk to the oceanfront rooms, and there is only ONE elevator on that end (and it's pretty small). We stayed on weekdays, but I'm betting that elevator situation gets frustrating during peak times. The self-park (no valet option due to Covid) is very close to the hotel, which is nice. I took a few days off from working out but was delighted to see the Peloton bikes in the fitness room. I'm a big Peloton fan, and it makes me happy to see hotels putting these in their fitness areas. I would pick a hotel based on that alone when I return to traveling for work! Visiting Hilton Head in October is a dream time to be there -- great weather, fewer crowds, still warm enough for the pool and beach. Highly recommend! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

6 nights in Oceanfront King Deluxe, fourth floor - Room 4004 with breakfast option Pros : beautiful view, directly across from beach/pool access elevator, stairs and ice room - NO noise from any of these being just across the hall. Very clean, great service from housekeeping. With this elevator, quick access to beach and all pools, very short walk to the lobby and Restaraunt by crossing the outdoor courtyard. Two of the days, we saw several dolphins just barely off shore. Cons: very long walk to main elevator that goes to parking garage. Did not bother us as we would go through courtyard to lobby then that elevator for excursions. Only took the long walk when checking in and out with luggage. Tips: brought our own beach chairs and small cooler - this worked very well. You can rent an umbrella and chairs on the beach for $38/day. There is also a half day option. Room 4006 is a corner room and I believe it has two window views. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Needs a renovation

Arrived at our room to find Maintenance working on the lock. Said if he couldn’t fix it, we’d have to move. So we waited & luckily he was able to fix it. Room was a little beat up - carpet frayed, sliding wood door to the bathroom scratched up. Sheets were rough. No laundry bags. Double sinks in the bathroom were nice but one wouldn’t drain & the bathtub was slow draining. The spa was very nice. Had a manicure from Aalyiah who did an excellent job. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
