Love the Lake Las Vegas area!

Apr 24th, 2019

When we arrived it was 85 degrees outside and the bed was made with a super thick winter-weight comforter. Luckily we found a lightweight cotton blanket in the closet. The bed was nice and firm. I saw several people in the hallways but inside the room was quiet. The property has lots of cushy seating overlooking the lake and surrounded by fountains. The golf course ran right in front of the lake and we enjoyed watching the golfers. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Property

This hotel is a beautiful place to get away from crazy Las Vegas. The palm tree lined entrance sets the mood for a lovely property. I booked a standard king room and was not disappointed with any aspect of my stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dissapointed

Poor housekeeping, overpriced drinks and food, poor food. Had one meal ( breakfast) Easter Sunday that was good service and food otherwise terrible for the prices. Pool was always dirty and noise. Won’t be going back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not a good value

Apr 22nd, 2019

This place is beautiful and I booked a king size room overlooking the lake. Room was equipped with plenty of plugins/charging stations. Had a makeup mirror, but light didn't work. Room was quiet and both the bed and temperature were comfortable. We checked in on a Tuesday and found the Spa wasn't open and it had started raining so the pools were closed. The next morning, I decided to go for a run and was given a 3 and 6 mile map. The run was pleasant as I enjoyed views of the lake and golf course. When we checked out, we paid the $32 resort fee ($29 plus tax) even though we didn't have the privilege of using any extra amenities/ activities. We had breakfast elsewhere after reading reviews about how expensive the food was. The location was perfect, but might do more research next time to find a place with a better value. Great location, let down by too many little things.

This hotel could be great!. But it missed it for me. We’ve spent 10 days on the road visiting some of the most magical sites of Utah, Arizona and and now Nevada. spending our time in La Quinta and Best Westerns hotels. First time I have ever stayed in either and they always got 5 Star reviews from me for cleanliness and service. See the rest of my reviews here. Arriving at at the Westin, we expected the bar to go up. This is a Westin Premier Resort and for many reasons it just didn’t. On arrival - the property is super impressive, with a luxury feel. Sadly, of the 6 checkin desks - only one was open. A 10 min+ wait. It was quicker, friendly and more efficient at the Best Western. Unlucky for me, I travel a fair bit so am Platinum Elite. I’m not sure I’ve ever had an upgrade from them. No nice welcome. Nothing. I’m Hilton Diamond And always made feel more welcome as a result. I randomly checked online to see if a junior suite was available and it was. I have written to them separately on this. I dont understand why my family wasn’t offered it given the status. We went to the pool area to let the kids unwind. You have to get towels form a booth under the hotel. There were two guys here waiting to help. The only conversation: How many do you need, followed by ‘make sure they are back by 10pm’! Charming! Equally not once did anyone come around to serve us. The next day, we arrived back to the hotel around 14:00. I noticed again a longer line of folks waiting to check in, and yes 1 person serving, Seems odd. We got back to our room just after 2pm from the Hoover Dam visit (go. It’s excellent) and room still not been made up. It was done by 6pm when we got back to the room after the pool. Just seemed odd. Back to the pool around 14:30. This time when we went to get towels. They this time said there’s a 15 bucks charge if we don’t bring them back. What a load of nonsense. Again, 2 people sitting there and they could have been wondering around the pool offering to help and provide excellent service. The pool area was busy but you can grab a bed. Maybe not an umbrella. When we did manage to get a few, another mum litterally walked over while I was in the pool with the kids, and wrestled it over to her bed and her kids. I didn’t say anything, but made a point of siting in the direct sun which she could clearly see. Sadly when things go wrong you start to notice more and more, like: * TV reception was snowy on lots of channels, weak or no signal on MTV, History and many more. I would say 70% not working or watchable at least. Only wanted to put it on while the kids were getting ready for bed * The wifi kept kicking you off and makes you log back in each time. * Both kids cut their feet in kids pool, it was just full of grit and something, why not clean it more regularly. The main pool was better, we headed there the next day. * The $4 water. It’s - $2.69 down the road in the grocery store for 12!! Seemed others had been out to buy the same. * The hot tub I counted 11 kids in there with no adult supervision. At one stage it was me, 1 other mum and her kid and then all these other kids.. * I was up early for coffee one morning. Sat outside to see CIgar butts and cigarette butts on the floor. I appreciate it was early and clearers and gardeners were out in general. On the flip side, some positives, to try and make this more balanced * Ricks cafe was good for dinner on the first night. We ate around 20:30 and were the only ones in there. * Likewise breskfast the next am. - 0720am And we were in our own. Service here both times was very good,. * There was a life guard on duty in both pools all the time. * When we checked out there were 3 people on duty, still a line but at least 50% of the desks were open * Room was a good size, clean. This place has potential. But for me is 2* service with 4* property. Try the Hilton next door. We will next time. I don’t think I’ve ever given a hotel on here lower than 3. Congrats Marriott/Westin. You missing a trick and losing a customer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
