Best Thanksgiving Trip!

Dec 2nd, 2019

We visited last week for 7 days and had the best time. It was me, my husband and our 2 children ages 4 and 6. We also met our Grandparents here for a portion of the trip to celebrate my Grandpa's 88th and my son's 6th birthday. This resort is amazing! The Staff was so thoughtful and delivered fresh fruit, 2 chocolate cakes and 2 chilled bottles; 1 champagne for the adults and 1 apple cider. Both birthday boys were delighted. Our room was spacious, the restaurant for many of our meals was delicious, and the grounds were beautifully manicured. What I enjoyed most about this trip was the wonderful staff. The Manager Tom does a great job leading and everyone we encountered had the autonomy to do right by the Guest. In traveling with kids, time is a premium and any issues/requests I had were resolved swiftly, efficiently and made the vacation flow with no wasted time. I felt recognized as a Titanium Guest and enjoyed all the events this resort put on including the Hot Air Balloon show and live jazz concert, the feeding of the the turtles, ducks and koi fish, mini golf, bike riding and the pool. Thank you so much for giving us a great family trip to remember. We look forward to our next stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable rooms, but disappointing for a Westin

Dec 1st, 2019

Stayed here for 6 nights over Thanksgiving - 30+ family members stayed at the property. The good: 1) Private events - large private catered Thanksgiving for our family in a ballroom. Staff was lovely and helpful, food was really delicious. 2) Beautiful grounds - especially if you're in to golf. Multiple pools, a little animal area, and great mountain views. 3) Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, good amenities in the room - coffee maker, large tv that you can log in to your own netflix account, big sofa, large bathrooms. Consistent with other Westin properties. The not so good: 1) Security - one of our party's rooms was burglarized in early evening while we were out to a meal, and had personal property stolen. Staff was responsive and helpful, but we learned that 3 rooms were burglarized during this time. It's an open property (anyone can drive in and park anywhere), and there are no cameras anywhere. Use the safe. 2) Service - day 1: had a rough check-in at the front desk, with an snippy employee who was clearly annoyed to be working late. day 2: met with the concierge, who was largely unhelpful in answering questions about what to do nearby, just gave us brochures. day 7: same day we're checking out, concierge flags us down and gives us a welcome bag really hustling us to book another Westin vacation. comical to receive a welcome bag on the last day. Also housekeeping knocked on our door before 9am on 3 separate mornings - once when I had the 3) Restaurant - expensive, and just ok. Breakfast came to $30pp ($13 for oatmeal). Ordered room service pizza one night, which was poor. Didn't eat on the property again. Had drinks at the bar one night and it was intolerable to sit there with really rowdy screeching guests. 4) Little to do in poor weather - it was cold and rainy multiple days on our visit, and there was nothing to do on the property and we got soaked running between the open hallways. There's some construction, apparently opening a small bowling alley and arcade, which might help. 5) Gym - decent gym, but missing some basic things like yoga mats (only short TRX mats) and basic free weights (available big options, but only one single 5 lb weight, one set of 10s, then 15s) Overall a decent hotel, but too many issues - wouldn't stay here again. Great stay

Dec 1st, 2019

We arrived after a horrendous 3.5 hour drive from LA. What terrible traffic. We were welcomed by Gabby at the front desk. She explained a lot of the features of the resort. It was so nice to be greeted in a friendly way to start our vacation. As a titanium member we opted for the free breakfast which were excellent. Our room was spacious and all the staff were friendly. The pool area was clean and nice. We visited Nov 15-18 and there were not many people so the pool area was not overcrowded. There were 2 pools that had slides, what fun! We do not golf but we did think the course looked nice and have a beautiful mountain backdrop. The location is excellent. Close to the 'downtown' area and Joshua National Park. Part of the resort fee included pickle ball, which I wanted to try, but we were too busy with other outings. We definitely recommend this hotel and will be back if we visit Palm Springs again. Worst vacation ever! Beware of Thief’s…Make sure you lock up all your valuables in the safe all the time.

Dec 1st, 2019

Worst vacation ever! Beware of Thief’s…Make sure you lock up all the belongings in a safe all the time. Security has no cameras or any idea or solutions… Our nightmare started with Thanksgiving vacation with the family with 5 rooms in building 8. First day of arrival we check in and relaxed and gather together in one room and spent 2-3 hours (Between 4 – pm). Return back to our room and all the cash in my wallet gone! Wife’s Cash and Bank Card in her wallet gone! My watch gone! My daughters watch gone! They even took our Toiletry Bag… First, the complex has no security gate or security to check you in order to enter the Hotel (Not like residence next complex). So, anybody off the street can walk in and no cameras on site. Entry doors to the Hotel room are old and did not close automatically, you have to pull/push to make sure it closes, and the balcony is cover with Hedges/Bush so perfect for anyone to walk right up to the glass door. Bottom line, the Hotel Security could not find out who came into our room while we were right next door for 2-3 hours if Theft was inside jobs or outside intruder. If you have plan to visit this Hotel, Make sure to lock you doors, store all your valuables in a safe all the time and be vigilant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spacious resort and rooms on a beautiful sunny golf course,

Nov 28th, 2019

This was a resort hotel picked because offered Tesla charging stations and garage parking. Many of the hotels in Palm Springs have beautiful sunny views of a golf course but we choose this because it was updated enough to accommodate our long drive to Southern California. The restaurant areas are delightful with views of green, manicured gold course. And the rooms are enormous, making a family stay comfortable. The staff was not the greatest as we couldn’t get someone to answer the phone 📱 for hours as we drove from Northern California to Palm Springs, but all’s well that ends well. We liked the outdoor fire pit for the outdoors restaurant and bar where one could see stars at night in the sky. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
