It’s now a homeless shelter
Sep 15th, 2020
I tried to spend the last two nights there, but it’s full of evacuees from hurricane Laura. No doubt, I feel sorry for those folks. But most of the guests seem homeless or addicts, are not wearing masks and using drugs in the common areas. There was a fight in the hallway on my floor. I tried to complain but nobody even works there anymore. I can’t really blame the staff for quitting their jobs, since there are people walking all over the common areas without masks. I would avoid this hotel. And the room had a clean/safety seal but it wasn’t clean at all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Horrible service not clean

This is my home hotel and my go to place to stay in the city. Never had such an experience. Shower not clean long black hair everywhere. Took 30 min to reach front desk. No bottled water, one towel, coffee service not replaced. Covid refugees staying at hotel. What’s up Marriot? Are you turning into a homeless shelter? Disgusting stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staff was helpful and attempted to fix things right away. BUT...this is not a cheap hotel. Therefore, my standards are high and they unfortunately did not meet these standards. My stay was for 3 nights. I was given a connecting room in the 18th floor and for the first day, although I could hear everything from outside the main door, there were barely any disruptions that night. (I believe no one stayed in the other connecting room that night.) The second night, however, I couldn't sleep at all. I had to call the lobby at 2:30 in the morning because the people in the connecting room were loud. They had music, but even conversations could be heard. I knew this couple's plan for the next day in the city without even trying to listen. The walls were so thin! It was awful!!! The next day, I asked for a different room with no connection to another room. I was then placed in the 29th floor on the other side of the building and this room was much better. You could hear the train passing by in the middle of the night, but at least it was quick and just once. (Instead of having to listen to other guests' conversations. This second room though, wasn't as clean as the first one. The inside of the toilet had fecal residue and the shower towel had a brown stain. I didn't bother calling because I was leaving the next day and I honestly didn't want to have to switch rooms again. Either way, I won't be staying here in the future. Shame, because due to work I was going to be traveling to NOLA plenty of times during the year and the next. Oh well! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
An excellent experience from top to bottom.

The room had everything you could want. And if it didn't, one simple post online got it in a jiffy! The beds were the most comfortable we had ever gotten in a hotel (made us realize we need to replace ours at home!). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We could not continue our drive home the week of urrian Laura due to the path was in our driving pattern. So we stopped in NOLA till we could get home. It was a pleasant surprise. The property is beautiful and a great location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
