Rooms are spacious and soundproofed
Smack dab in the heart of Times Square, which can be overwhelming
This Times Square Westin is easily identified by its iridescent glass architecture. Inside, guests are greeted with spectacular views overlooking the city skyline, the Hudson River and the Empire State Building along with signature Westin amenities, including Heavenly Beds, iHome radios and flat-screen TVs. Recent visitors particularly appreciate the hotel's easy access to top city attractions, including Rockefeller Center and the Theater District. However, the staff receives mixed reviews from past guests: some said they encountered friendly and helpful employees while others said customer service was lacking, citing miscommunications. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

Any downside to the cold corporate reality — long lines for the elevator, room-service delays — is counterbalanced by a bounty of amenities.

Overall, this hotel isn't a bad option, but it's not a great one either. Extra fees — for gym access or Internet — are ample, which isn't the case at many New York hotels.

This giant Midtown hotel has all the amenities and service you would expect from a reliable brand, at fairly reasonable prices, though without much style. Rooms are generic but comfortable.

The Westin New York at Times Square is something of a beacon of calm and respite in one of the world's most bustling landscapes, complete with a beam of light soaring from the atrium to the top of the 45 story building.
