Wow!

Feb 17th, 2020

Stayed here for two nights this past weekend. Everything from the moment of check in to moment we checked out was first class. The service and attention to detail from the staff is all exceptional. The entire team should be commended on their personal and professional service. The rooms are updated and modern. I particularly liked our room, room 1127. Right at the end of the hall with a huge glass shower. Cleanliness was impeccable as it always has been at this hotel. The hotel was jammed packed for Winter Lude and family day but they accommodated everyone very well. Yes, the elevators are often a few minute waits but to be expected with such a busy location. The location is second to none as most mention. One interesting feature I was unaware of is the train that is now accessible from inside the mall, which the hotel connects to. Very convenient ! Thanks for the personal touch and great stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect location

Feb 6th, 2020

This hotel was in a great location downtown. Easy access to the convention centre. Not a far walk from ST. CATHERINES STREET which is the heart of downtown Montreal for shopping etc. The hotel doesn't offer free parking and when we were there valet was full. We had to park across the street in a public garage. That was somewhat of an inconvenience. The lobby was welcoming and the bakery/cofee shop upstairs was delish. The rooms of the hotel were was spacious. Bigger than the average room. I would definitely come back to this place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Central Location & Great Service

Feb 4th, 2020

Stayed in the Hotel when visiting family and attending a wedding. The Hotel is centrally located and within a walking distance to several city attractions. The Hotel is connected to one of the main malls in Ottawa and is extremely convenient. You can also walk across the street and be in the Market; a main area in downtown Ottawa with restaurants and pubs. Quite simply, I cannot stress on the importance of such a prime location. The Hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I had to change my room a couple of times due to personal preference and there was no hassle with the staff at all. Thank you for that! The rooms are very clean and spacious and the view of the Parliament is simply amazing from the room (if you go for the Parliament View Room). All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely return to the Westin the next time I’m in Ottawa. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Winterlude getaway

Feb 3rd, 2020

We booked our room about a week beforehand during the first weekend of Winterlude. We were on the 15th floor with an enormous window looking towards parliament and the chateau Laurier. It was a 10minute walk to Sparks Street to see the ice carving competition. Stunning sculptures. The King size bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and that full sized lighted mirror...oh what I would give to have that in my home! Great for doing makeup! Despite the enormous window, the curtains blocked out the light and we were able to sleep in comfortably. We looked at the room service menu but it was very expensive. Instead we crossed the street to Metropolitain Brasserie for a delicious breakfast. Parking is shared with the Rideau centre. I believe $30 a day, $40 for valet. To get to the garage that leads to the Westin lobby, make sure you enter from Daly street and turn into the RED garage. Being able to enter Rideau Centre for shopping without stepping outside was great. You can also enter the Shaw Centre from inside as well. Checkin was fast and easy. The hotel lobby seemed to be marketed as a skating stop for Winterlude but it didn’t affect our check in or check out process. Only con was that our hall was a little noisy with doors closing and people talking. However, it’s a hotel. People come and go! Nobody woke us overnight however. We will definitely go back again! Lost and Found

Feb 2nd, 2020

I realized that my Bose Wireless Headset was forgotten in the hotel safe, and when I called them they could not find them. A couple of days later, I was contacted that did find my Bose Headset and that it was secure. The hotel is convenient to shops and the Shaw Centre. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is close to the Rideau Canal, unfortunately, the ice was not ready to be skated on. Staff is nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
