Aggressive sell up

Aug 16th, 2019

These guys must get some serious training to go after travelers with some aggressive up charge. They make it seem that it would be illegal unless you don’t upgrade to bigger room even with young kids. And they are not shy about going after big dollars and asking you to pay them 200/night or higher or go find another hotel. Not sure this is what they meant by hospitality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Hotel! Great rooms! Great Location!

Aug 11th, 2019

The Westin Palace in Madrid is a beautiful hotel! We stayed on the first floor in one of the recently renovated rooms and it was perfect! The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom is gorgeous (with two sinks!). It had lots of closet space also! The lobby is gorgeous and the hotel is located in the heart of the historic area. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go! I definitely recommend this hotel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not everything it could be.

Aug 11th, 2019

Pretty lobby. Fairly attentive staff. WiFi nearly non existent. Very expensive to dine on premises. Ridiculously so. We’ve been to other five star hotels, and never paid so much for food and drinks on premises. $30 for a mediocre Negroni. The other disappointment, no concierge lounge. Most five star hotels have one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Historic hotel in great location

Aug 11th, 2019

We were very pleased with the Westin in Madrid. The hotel is over 100 years old and has been kept in remarkable condition. The hotel is located in the older historic section of town and right across the street from the Prado Museum. The rooms are a bit small but typical for Europe. Service was great. The only negative was that the room air conditioning was either on or off. There was no thermostat. So you either froze or got warm. I do recommend the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
