Who Doesn't LOVE the Westin Palace in Madrid?!

May 23rd, 2019

A childhood friend and I just spent 5 nights at the Westin Palace and had such a fantastic time! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Of course, the location is the best for visiting museums, hopping on/off the double-decker tour bus, walking the historic center and dining around the many tapa bars and other fine restaurants all located close by. We highly recommend this hotel, a little slice of old-time elegance in the heart of Madrid. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old Style Glamour

May 22nd, 2019

Western Palace , Grand hotel in an historic and elegant city. Meeting up with friends from Texas and enjoying just snapshot in three days of what is there to experience. Half day on the topless bus on our first day showed us some of what the old part of the city had to offer. We had a traditional Spainish meal at the oldest restaurant in the world - "Botin", recommended by Spainish friends.. There were a good cross section of tourists and locals . Food wise we opted for the traditional "Suckling Pig". The old style waiters looked after us very well ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The BEST hotel in Madrid!!

May 21st, 2019

We spent six nights at The Westin Palace Madrid. It was one of the nicest hotels we have EVER stayed in, anywhere. We cannot say enough positive about the staff at the hotel. The location is ideal -- near the Prado, Sofia Reina, Thyssen, Puerto del Sol, Parliament, Royal Botanical Gardens, and in it's own lovely walkable neighborhood. The Palace Hotel is the second oldest hotel in Madrid. It is an icon. It's a beautiful building and the rooms are exquisite!! The rooms are perfectly clean and the housekeeping staff is incredibly capable and attentive. The breakfasts at La Rotonda were our favorite time of the day and each and every wait person/host/hostess was incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. A special thank you to Juana and Rodica who helped us begin each day with a smile and excellent service. Fabulous spread for breakfast and delicious food. Our room was well appointed. Lots of drawers and closet space. The bathroom was lovely. It was airy and light, clean, well furnished. Super comfortable mattress! All the concierge staff is well versed and helpful. Always available and extremely knowledgeable. From the moment of check in with Maria to our farewell at The Palace Hotel -- we felt valued, safe, and welcome. The management of this hotel and the staff plus a historical building - make this an amazing, memorable place to stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent location and service; not quite as outstanding as they like to think

May 21st, 2019

Two blocks to the Prado and two blocks to the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. Also a reasonably easy walk to most other main sights in the core of Madrid. That said, room was often too warm even with the AC set at high fan and lowest temperature. Elevators can be slow (use the second set, just a few feet away). On some days, room still hadn't been cleaned by 3 in the afternoon. Breakfast is quite good, but again, not quite the same standards you find at comparable high end grand old but modernized palace hotels of this nature elsewhere in the world. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding in every way

May 20th, 2019

The hotel is ideally located near many shops, restaurants, museums, etc. Our room on the third floor was quite large. The bathroom was spacious as well, with double sinks and plenty of counter space. The breakfast buffet is fabulous, complete with an array of hot entrees, salads, breads/pastries, Asian cuisine, fruit, multiple milk and juice options, and a special-order window. The dining area is exquisite, with a gorgeous stained-glass dome window on the ceiling. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
