It starts with a handy location near the Whistler gondola, and continues with the airy lobby, all lined with river stone and sunny pine trim, where swooping contemporary furniture clusters around the big fireplace. The same look extends to the guest rooms, which have well-appointed kitchenettes with granite countertops, as well as fireplaces; most also have balconies.

The two-story lobby is dramatic, and rooms are chic and cozy, with earthy color schemes, gas fireplaces, extra-deep tubs, and exceptionally comfy beds. The 1,400-square-foot, split-level suites are great for families: each has a full kitchen and a loft bedroom with a whirlpool tub.
