Best Stay Ever!!!!

Rochelle, Seth, and Diyar at the check in went above and beyond with customer service and made our stay much more enjoyable. The room service french fries were amazing. The landscape was really pretty. My family and I had a great time TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Best spa ever

I had a facial by Tracy and massage by Vicky. I was on vacation with my family it was nice to treat myself very relaxing and therapeutic good atmosphere very nice and professional staff. Will love to come back. Will recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Oosha in gift shop was a gift

Oosha in the gift shop at the Westin helped my children purchase treasures for friends. She also helped me with a friend who needed medical supplies and a husband a bathing suit. Thank you Oosha. The gift shop had many local accent items and good items that Oosha was familiar with as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor communication and no customer service

I don’t usually give negative reviews on hotels unless they are unusually bad-since we typically stay in nice hotels. Even if things are less than perfect I always give benefits of doubt cause sometimes circumstances are beyond control despite the best efforts. Well, not this case. We made the reservation weeks in advance online, booking one of the most expensive rooms with river view and private balcony for 3 nights, receiving confirmation email from Westin, Upon check in (around 5pm) my husband was told that our room had been given away cause there were some issues with credit card payment not going though. Their record showed a completely different credit card number than the one we had given-the most bizarre thing we’ve ever heard. We made online hotel reservations around the world (US, Canada, Europe) all the time and this never happened before. Apparently some glitches occurred in their computer system which was totally not our fault. Not only they had given away our room, since it was 4th July weekend the entire hotel was booked so we were left without a room after we had just flew in from another city, rented a car and now not knowing where we would put up for the night (and next 2 nights.) We had to sit in a car calling around hotels in Savannah to find a room while it was pouring rain, even though we had booked our room weeks in advance. My problem was not that there were glitches in their system and somehow the “odd” credit card number jumped up-which we doubt was truly what happened. My biggest complaint was that they lied-the person in the front desk said they contacted us via email 3 days ago-they never did. My husband checked his email and the only emails he got, other than the initial confirmation for the reservation, was an email which was sent the VERY SAME DAY we checked-in, at 12pm, saying something was wrong with the credit card number. This email was literally sent while we were on the plane flying to Savannah!!! Like we would have internet access to check and respond to the email while ON THE PLANE?? Had they made the contact 3 days ago like they claimed they did, the issue would have been easily straightened out. That’s the least they should have done. In fact, with a room that price range, they should have called if there was any mix-up about the credit card since the reservation requires customers leaving their phone numbers for a reason! We believe they just overbooked-it’s 4th of July weekend. They probably realized there were more guests coming in than expected so they gave our reserved room to whomever came before us. It was obvious to us that they gave the room away first, then sent the email-that’s why the email was sent on the same day as the check in day. No business integrity here. We were fortunate to find a room in Homewood suite eventually or we might have ended up sleeping in a car till the next flight home! What they did was both unprofessional and unethical. We have stayed in Westin in Toronto and Atlanta before, though Westin is not considered a high end hotel like Fairmont or Belmond, it’s still a reputable business class hotel chain. What happened here was unbelievable. I think they get lots of conference bookings in this Westin (as the reviews had indicated) so they don’t have any incentive to improve on how they operate. Similar situation is bound to happen to someone else. My recommendation is that if you’re traveling for personal vacation (not for business), there are many wonderful hotels in Savannah to choose from, stir away from this one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Maid Service or lack there of...

The hotel is very nice and the personnel are all extremely cordial and helpful. However we were very surprised and disappointed with the maid service. We checked in after 6:00 pm and our room wasn't ready. We opted for light housekeeping (greenwise)...that is not to change the sheets for our second night. Well, our room was never made up at all. I worked in the hospitality industry many years and this sort of thing was unheard of. Unfortunately I left with a negative feeling regarding this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
