Very Disappointing! Not up to Marriott standards!

Very disappointing! The hotel is very outdated, dingy and in need of MAJOR updating. It definitely does not represent the Marriott branding and Marriott's superior standards. The hotel looks nice from the outside, good area, beach and nice Starbucks on site and bay view rooms. However that's where it ends! The room smelled old and musty, it was so pronounced and disgusting it hit you as soon as you opened the room door. The carpet was old and worn. I awoke to red bites all over my arms and legs. Upon check out I told the clerk of my dissatisfaction and room experience she didn't even take the time acknowledge my compliant nor did management respond to my official compliant to the hotel. Very poor customer service! If you are looking for a nice CLEAN hotel this is definitely not the one! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This hotel is a bit worn, but decent service and amenities could have made a world of difference. It seems as though the management is trying to save money by reducing all the amenities and services. For instance, no bottled water in the room and only about 1/3 of a single roll of toilet paper. At check in I was told the pool and the lounge were closed. Both closures were described as no way to control the number of people using either due to the pandemic. Interesting as somehow other hotels, public libraries and grocery stores have managed to handle the flow of customers as Florida reopens. None of these restrictions were listed on the Marriott website while other hotels in the chain were very up front about any changes in service or amenities. There was no cleaning or restocking of the room either. When I called the front desk the second day of my stay to ask why my room hadn’t been cleaned or stocked by 8 pm I was told that it was due to covid also. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told there wasn’t one on duty. This was a stay far below expectations from a platinum Marriott rewards member. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend and the first desk clerk Vilma made sure it was a fantastic stay!! She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and she was extremely accommodating. The rest of the staff we encountered were also very friendly. The hotel was clean and we felt very safe. We definitely plan on returning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Perfect overnight stay

This was our first hotel stay since covid restrictions began, and we were very happy with it. Valet parking was not operating, so we were told to self park in the lot next to the hotel (I prefer that anyway). The room was very comfortable, and the check in was efficient and friendly. We stayed here over Memorial Day Weekend. It was a wonderful experience! The Westin has a great outdoor patio and beach. The staff were extremely friendly. Parking was a bit of a pain but does not reflect on the hotel. A number of guests were taking up two spaces at time throughout the open lot. There was a fire in the hotel during our stay, we were evacuated but the staff and firefighters responded quickly and were able to contain the issue. We will be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
