Wonderful visit during trying times!

Jul 10th, 2020

Spent four great days in Napa Valley with our home base being the Westin Verasa. First let me say that this hotel is doing everything possible to make this a safe and healthy environment. Masks, sanitizers, gloves, etc. carefully and mindfully places out and about. We never thought twice about our well being while staying here. The staff truly is the star of this show. Each and everyone we encountered was charming and professional. Kudos to management for maintaining a great staff. As we have traveled thru the last two months, we see the same in most hotels. No amenities, no housekeeping, etc. We have grown accustomed to this, although we hope to see an end soon! Anytime we needed extra towels, soap, etc. we were always met with a “no problem “ attitude. Rooms are nice, maybe a bit dated for some. Restaurants are excellent, especially La Toque (see separate review) where we dined in elegance. We opted for a breakfast package and ate breakfast each morning on the patio outside by the pool. Every breakfast was served hot, plated well and absolutely delicious. The hotel is centrally located in the town of Napa, so you are not far from everything.5 minutes to Oxbow Market, Gott’s Roadside, Fillipi Pizza and Model Bakery. 5 minute drive to downtown Napa. We appreciated everyone we came into contact with and recommend this hotel, whether you are a couple or a family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everything but the bed...

Jun 27th, 2020

Overall a nice stay for a large family in the suites. No pet fee...which is also nice. Allowing us to bring all of our family. Granted they didn’t even have us sign a wavier for the dog. Even though they said we would have one upon check in. The Eggs Benedict...also a win, but I am biased cause I like Eggs Bens. The pool is a good temp and perfect for lap swimming or playing with the kids. Close to downtown. We walked there in about 15 mins. I think the biggest con is the bed. It was horrible. They have some sort of mattress pad on top of the mattress. You sink into it an not in a comfortable foam way but like a soft pillow an no support type way. I can deal with stiff sheets and bedding. But the bed was bad. I asked the other few people staying with us in the large room about the bed too. They agreed the bed was pretty bad an they too got little to no sleep. It’s like they layered numerous toppers to make it appear the bed was nice. For the price of the room it’s kinda not worth it. I overlooked the fact the room wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be either. Especially for a Westin. I get they were closed down for several months. There was dust in most areas of the room. I wiped that down. The shower had black mold between the glass an tiles. I think it needs to be redone vs being cleaned. But the cleaning aspect didn’t bother me as bad as the horrible bed did. They need to remove the toppers an just buy better mattresses. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Westin

Jun 26th, 2020

When my husband told me he needed to go on a business trip in the Sonoma area, he asked if I would like to come along and that was a no brainer. I usually select our hotels , but this time he decided on the Westin from his Bonvoy app and you know what? He made the right choice. I was concerned that the pool would be closed like it was at the Ritz in HalfMoon Bay recently (will review later), but much to my delight it was open! We arrived fairly late after his little round of golf at Eagle Vines, running to Target for snacks and grabbing dinner at a drive thru. Parking is only self serve right now as Valet is not available, but the good news is that is free. Our room was 1090 something (wished it was 1090 though ;) a standard king room with a view of a pathway. It was also a connecting room which would have been perfect if we had our kids with us, so I am assuming the room next door has two beds. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we appreciated the mini fridge that is nicely hidden as part of the dresser. The bathroom and shower area is a bit small, but very modern and appreciate that there are plastic cups instead of real glass for fear of breaking them. Next day I was on my own so I did what I always do and researched on Tripadvisor where to go to eat. I found Model Bakery and again to my delight it was just a hop skip and a jump from the Westin. Will review later. Due to the Civid situation, there are no coffee makers in the rooms nor an ice bucket. But, they serve Starbucks coffee in the very nice lobby from 7am-10:30am. I would like to thank Royce-Anne from concierge for her lovely demeanor towards me while I was getting coffee. She had also helped my husband earlier that morning with info on local wineries that we might want to visit during our stay. Please note there is no boutique that sells bathing suits which I needed because I forgot to pack my bikini bottom! Thank goodness that Walmart was a short walk away to solve my problem. Oh, have to give the management whomever they are thanks for having face masks and hand sanitizer as you come in and out of the lobby, something Ritz partially had. They had hand sanitizer, but no masks. Overall our two night stay was great at the Westin Verasa and so grateful I got to tag along on this trip. I read that there used to be complimentary wine in the evenings for guests, but you aren’t able to do that anymore. How about getting these personal size wine bottles and give one two to any Bonvoy member as they check in? If I can get for $1 each, I am sure a corporation like yours can get them for even less than that from one of the local wineries. I will share a pic of what I am talking about. Thank you!! weekend in napa downtown

Jun 21st, 2020

The hotel is in a great location and well maintained. Service was bad to begin with, we had reached early and i called ahead, they didnt have room and took my number to call me but didn't call well past 4:00 PM check in time. Made no effort to accommodate even a slightly early check in - we waited in lobby and left again after asking them to call us. The restaurant in lobby was nice and staff were more welcoming than the front desk folks. No information or concierge was present . Cleanliness was good .. they can be more welcoming.. Awesome stay!

Jun 21st, 2020

The stay at the Westin was so amazing! My kids loved playing in the pool, and you could bike and walk anywhere like downtown and Oxbow Market. The suite was spacious and a comfortable bed and couch. Also it was my kids’ first time in Napa! We also biked to the Trefethen Winery! We loved Napa! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
