Nice hotel with good location and staff

The hotel locates in Richmond, close to airport as well as shops and restaurants. Friendly staff upgraded my room to a big and nice suite. Although a little old, the hotel would be perfect if they offered free parking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing bed great staff

Just had a few days at this perfect hotel , great facilities as well as a very good gym Or room service was fast and good quality , best of all the staff were all so helpful and friendly right from check in I will be back Mike from uk TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel - but Pillows not as "Heavenly" as their Beds

Room view, bathroom,staff were all phenomenal! Location seems to be in an industrial area- far from any amenities. Future views from the very large windows most likely will be blocked by walls of concrete buildings now being built all around the hotel and area.Too bad! The rooms look exactly like the pictures! The "heavenly bed" is great but the pillows are so soft that your head lays almost flat on the mattress with the pillow "pooching out" from both sides of your head. We found the comforter so very heavy that you felt constricted while laying under it. Really appreciated the recycling bins & also the bin for organics/food stuffs. Bathroom was wonderful! A few concerns... the fridge froze the water/juice. Couldn't find a control to adjust the temperature. Shuttle bus from the airport was broken down. Waited over 3/4 hour, then phoned. Hotel reimbursed the taxi charges. Could they not have sent an email to their unregistered guests informing them of this? "Business Center" is rather sparse(only one keyboard & 2 screens). Tried printing boarding passes - no paper. Then printer wouldn't work.Holly (front desk) was very helpful & managed to print them at the check-in counter. Restaurant staff (Amanda & Jonathon) made dining a pleasure. Ordered hamburger with salad- it arrived with french fries.Taste was okay. Spaghetti & meat sauce was just okay - no "Wow" factor. Restaurant decor was rather impersonal - didn't make you feel that you wanted to linger. But there was no other place close by so most guests would have to eat there. Would consider staying again if there would be as guaranteed view - but that seems unlikely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay, near the airport Also got the free shuttle bus from airport - hotel The receptionist was friendly (Asian, long hair) who checked in for us Room was spacious :) and clean Had shower and bath :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great, until recent!

#hotel review I Travel frequently for work, spending 1/3rd of my year in hotels and with that I stay at least once a month at The Westin Wall Centre Vancouver airport,BC. I have plenty of choices and I stay here(although a little more $) as it is convenient, but mostly it's due to the service and recognition as Bonvoy member. The last 6 times I have stayed I have been given complimentary parking as a preferred customer or in recognition of my Bonvoy membership loyalty. My most recent stay I was charged for parking, and also charged a separate 24% parking tax and then another GST tax on the the parking tax? When I called to enquire on this I initially reached front desk who then put me on to the Manager (Christine) who advised we don't give complimentary parking, when I mentioned I had before, she replied with "well we can, and I will choose who we give it to" Needless to stay my feeling of being a welcome and important customer of Westin ended right there! I mentioned to manager "should I be looking for another place to stay from now on then?' who replied " Ok, have a great day..Bye" Not sure if this is a new manager, but it's a pity as I really enjoyed staying there and was always impressed by all the staffs attentive and professional manner the staff. Seems I was treated better as a "Gold" status member and now I am "Platinum" I feel less important as a customer. Interestingly, since reaching "Platinum" every hotel I had stayed with has has thanked me for the loyalty and offered me a welcome gift.., all except westin Wall Centre Vancouver airport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
