Last minute stay, great staff & facility

Unscheduled drive from Boston to Norfolk. At 10PM, made reservation on Marriott App. Easy to find off I-95. Very friendly staff at check in. Although reservation made 90 min before arrival, they had room key etc ready. Free parking next to property. Well lit. I was surprised to learn the property does not have concierge lounge. I don't think I've stayed at a Westin without prior to this stay (Marriott Ambassador, so frequently stay at Westins). I had to use points towards breakfast, which was nice, but I dislike having to take the extra time to order & pay for breakfast. Room was nice, quiet, and had the "Heavenly Bed". Best bed in the Marriott system (except possibly Ritz Carltons). Check out was easy & correct. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I have stayed at a lot of Westins and this was by far the worst. They forgot a bottle of champagne that they promised to be in the room at check in. Then there were kids running up and down the hall at 1am, dogs barking on the floor and very rowdy people. This was not a quiet hotel. Then they promised to credit an incorrect room service charge and after almost 2 weeks and 4 phone calls, it still is not credited. This is not what I expect out of a Westin. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

From the moment I walked in the Westin Wilmington, I was met with a smile from Micheal Rice. Any request I made was also met with a smile and completed efficiently. From printing out documents I needed for my meeting to providing me with change to tip my shuttle driver and everything in between. I was made to feel as a valued customer each and every encounter. If I could make one observation, it would be the bathtub drained rather slowly. Based on this stay, I will be back to this hotel Oh, and the food was great!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great hotel & location!

Had a big group stay there for business trip. Staff had room keys all ready upon check-in and made our arrival flawless... the group barely had to break stride walking in towards their rooms after entry. Staff was extremely friendly and rooms were clean, new and ideal for a quick stop. Also several quality restaurants and entertainment options all in walking distance. If you have a group coming in for business, you should stay here and book through Shanice, a true top professional in her field. A+ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not Westin Quality
Nov 12th, 2019
Had a very disappointing stay at the Westin Wilmington. The location is a bit isolated and there was a lot of construction going on in and near the parking area for the hotel. We were there for an event based at the hotel, otherwise we might not have chosen to stay here given the location. When we entered our room, it appeared that it may not have been fully cleaned after the prior guest. The duvet cover was wrinkled - hopefully it was because it was not ironed, or worse, they had not cleaned/changed it. Some of the toiletries were clearly partially empty/used (see photo), so we threw them out immediately. There are only two elevators, that were quite slow when we were there. During many times of the day there were multiple people waiting for elevators on various floors. One of the elevator cars had a yellow caution sign folded and leaning against the elevator wall - did not seem to have a purpose and was just left there for two days. All in all not the level of quality or service I have experienced at other Westin or other hotels. Would not stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
