Dangerous drunken staff behavior during spiking pandemic

This hotel is really very nice and I very much would like to give it a good review. However, an experience this evening was very disturbing and the hotel’s response was insufficient given the nature of what took place. A colleague and I were in the lobby bar having an appetizer this evening. A clearly drunken staff member not wearing a mask wearing a Renaissance lapel pin approached us asking if we needed a drink and for some reason offered “shots”. We are business people in our 40s and not interested in such things let alone at a seemingly upscale hotel catering to a business clientele. He slurred his words, with spittle coming from his mouth inches from my colleague’s face. We were very uncomfortable and did not understand this situation. We asked a hostess to pay attention. Based on her steps a different hotel staff member intervened and told us the drunken employee was “from another part of the hotel”. She said “he was served too many”. He continued to linger in the bar which continued to make us feel uncomfortable. Ultimately, he left and the staff member did comp our drinks. While you paid for my drinks, if my team and I get COVID from a drunken staff member behaving like this that is simply unforgivable. And why are you encouraging your own employees to drink to excess in your own bar during COVID-19? Your training protocols need to be reviewed immediately and in my opinion something more significant (other than comping one persons bill) needs to happen to ensure such wantonly dangerous behavior does not happen let alone in the middle of an escalating pandemic. Not worth the money

My husband and I live in the Fort Worth area and were gifted a "staycation" as a wedding gift. We chose The Worthington for location, the price point was higher than others in downtown. We had massages booked at the Omni but decided to "splurge" with what seemed to be a nicer hotel. From the moment we got there the thing that stood out the most was lack of customer service. I am sorry but I am in customer service and given the times.. everyone is a little on edge.. if someone is staying at a hotel.. they either have to or are looking for an escape (us). My husband parked to the left of valet so I could run in and ask for an early check in (1 hour) and he told the person at valet and he was fine with it. Upon checking in the employee was so rude and cold. He looked miserable to be there. I told him we were there celebrating and although our room was already paid in full I was interested in surprising my husband and upgrading if possible. Without even looking he said, I have nothing available so I said ok no problem. Well, if you have a room with a great view would you mind giving that one.. no answer. Asks for my ID and our family member put my name as my new husbands last name. He refused to check me in and I explained to him I just got married. Had to go out to find my husband even though his name was not on the reservation.. he let him check in for us since he had the right last name. He gave us a room with 2 beds and I asked for 1 bed -- again "not available". Yet, as we walked away a woman was checking in another couple and I heard them ask to switch from 1 bed to 2. Valet was a mess. unorganized. the guys were all chatting while we were trying to get their attention to get into our car they had locked when we went in to check in. It was a mess getting our car at the end of our stay as well. The hotel Toro Toro was a good point.. it was delicious. However, again.. we had reservations came downstairs and they sat us in what felt like the hotel lobby. Here we are spending $200 for a nice meal and we are next to a window in our hotel lobby haha. I spoke to our waiter and asked if they had another sitting area because that one was cold. They were able to move us into the actual "restaurant area" which I am not sure why they wouldn't in the first place with reservations. Again the food was great but for such a gourmet meal they need a better location. Everything about our stay was subpar. After visiting the Omni or our massages - I wish we would have stayed there and gone to Reatas for a nice dinner. Very disappointed in our experience there and definitely won't be back or recommend it to family/friends. The walls were paper thin as well. The lobby got busy at night around the bar if you want to just stop by in the evening for a drink. Don't waste your money staying there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice - but not a cat 5 (only due to downtown location)

Check-in was not the typical Marriott check-in but ok, don’t need to be a Deva it’s COVID. Very spacious entry nice valet area but expect things to be hoping at 3:00-5:00 typical check-in but they handled it well - and if your staying downtown in a top notch hotel don’t complain about $ of parking. Valet’s all very nice and attentive. Happened to be a football weekend - that’s not what we were there for. And Oklahoma was staying on the property - waisted on us but I will say we did not even notice. Was not loud or crazy fans, just the buses and OHP security or we probably wouldn’t have know. Only in room dinning for breakfast - even so it was ok, hard to keep things hot but warm is acceptable. Room nicely appointed slightly dated - curtains did not slide very well and the main wooden Credenza finish was peeling; flooring still carpeted (now the trend is to tile which is nicer - no worry’s about what is it really clean) but well kept and clean; very nice HD TV ~55”; Bath room was fine - on demand hot water and I mean hot. No Starbucks but a nice enough copy just off the lobby. We will probably test a new Marriott property on our next stay in Fort Worth TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

DO NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE!

While the hotel itself was fine, we expect more than just a room to sleep in from this "luxury" brand. Having stayed here several times in the past, our most recent experience was surprising! Due to Covid, the only breakfast dinning option is "Room Service" We though our experience was perhaps related to the pandemic... but upon further review, it seems this type of service has been the norm here for quite some time. In a nut shell... there isn't any room service to speak of... at least none you'll want to eat... even if it's free! As Anne S has previously described in her review on TripAdvisor dated December of 2019, this too was our experience and could not be expressed any better; "Purported "room service" is a DISGRACE (as other disgruntled customers have noted). The menu itself is quite limited; what they do have is delivered to you in a bag, in plastic containers, and with plastic utensils. THIS IS NOT ROOM SERVICE, and certainly not in a hotel claiming luxury status. The food isn't very good ...pretty much what I could find pre-packaged at a deli—but charged $15 for that, plus another $5 to bring it up to my room. Breakfast: same story (mediocre, overpriced). On top of this, their room service menu claims that food is delivered in "environmentally friendly packaging"—NO. It is not. I mean, if you're claiming luxury status and cheaping out on providing actual room service, at least go for bamboo materials or some such? You can just imagine some marketing meeting where MBA types are sitting around saying, "Hey, let's save ourselves some $ and throw the word 'environmental' in there to make it fly—ha ha! Suckers!!" You're charging upward of $200 a night for a room? Give me a plate and an actual fork, and upgrade the kitchen. This is TERRIBLE, and management should be ashamed." Not to mention, there is absolutely nothing on this menu for kids! Not even a waffle or pancake (not that they could get that right either)!! Quite frankly, why even offer Room Service... which is what I told them at check out! Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of area restaurants for take out which is edible. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome person

Wow jaime went over the top for us. Hotel had a problem and he saved the trip for us!!!! He also got us a late check out at no charge. All the people were very friendly to us. The rooms were very clean Also. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
