Perfect hotel for couples

Jan 22nd, 2020

This hotel is perfect for couples on a short break away. It took us about an hour to get to from JFK. When we arrived the reception team was very helpful in explaining the safety deposit and the tax. The deposit is $50 dollars a night and tax is $35 dollars a night. The tax is taken out of your deposit and the rest of your deposit is refunded to you if there is no damage to your room. The rooms are beautifully presented and clean. Housekeeping came to our room everyday to make our bed, empty bins and give us clean towels. The hotel also offers a 24 hour gym which is very clean and quite throughout our stay. The reception area had communal computers and printers to print off your boarding passes if need be. We was very lucky to be given a balcony from our room which gave us a beautiful view of some of the nearby buildings. Our room was heated all day and night, sometimes it would get too warm but we was able to put on the air-con so didn’t mind. The hotel is 3 minute walk from time square which is perfect for fitting everything in on a tight schedule. We would be very happy to stay here again and would like to thank all the staff for a wonderful stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ruined Trip

Jan 22nd, 2020

We was pleasantly surprised on check in as how nice the hotel was after reading the reviews. The rooms were spacious (twin room) and everything was perfect! That was until 9:30pm that night workmen started refurbishing every hotel room on our floor, we made complaints but these fell on deaf ears, the receptionist simply did not care and suggested we invested in ear plugs! I am not exaggerating when I say we had around 20 workmen outside our room shouting and working from 9pm-4am EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! Every morning we was promised that the works had finished on our floor, every night we had them back shouting. Turns out it was a check in mistake and we was never supposed to of been given the 9th floor but they refused to move us. When a room did become available I was offered to be moved to the 8th floor...where they has just started working, it was a complete joke! Our trip was completely ruined as we did not sleep at all. The reception staff did not care and were extremely rude with one stating she had bigger problems then me complaining about lack of sleep, when you have paid out for a trip of a lifetime I think anyone is well within their right to complain about blokes being outside there door all night with a master key! We was the only guests on the floor the first night and felt completely unsafe. We tried to speak to the manager everyday but she was either not in yet or unavailable, it go to the point that I had to email her for a response as we couldn't see her face to face. She has promised a refund via our booking agent but not heard anything as yet. The Hotel is nicely decorated and in the perfect location, if it wasn't for the works and the rude and disrespectful staff I would highly recommend. If you are booked to stay here over the next couple of weeks I really do urge you to call ahead and request a room away from the refurbishments. Although not sure how much help that would be as none of the staff knew what floors the workmen would be on from one night to the next. I am not one to complain at all and often read reviews on here and think get over it but my god it was a bloody awful experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never again

Jan 21st, 2020

Upon arrival had no information was given goodie card told the room number. Next day asked questions at desk got told to go see another staff. When seeing that person had no interest what so ever with an attitude. Every night there were constant doors banging, couldn’t open the window as it was taped up which the room was very hot. Housekeeping wasn’t that good, knocked on door and asked if we needed anything and then got told to wait until she got it and passed it through the door. When on check out day the cleaner knocked several times and was told we were checking out at 12. Knocked 8am 9.30am , and many times after that. The staff didn’t seem interested in any of there residents just more interested in taking your money and that is it. You will be left with a tax bill when u leave the hotel. I wouldn’t stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
