Good Airport Hotel But Not The Marriott Feel

Oct 13th, 2019

Close to airport. Airport Shuttle Service. Walking distance to several pubs/restaurants. Union Pierson Express service to City at Airport, or walking distance to public bus transit. Pool and Gym very nice. Staff nice and friendly. M Club Lounge on first floor and breakfast service is buffet out in restaurant...you have to carry it into the lounge!! Lounge espresso coffee machine broken. Rooms are tired (even though recently updated). Furniture looks old. Beware...Corner rooms are not corner rooms. They are sandwiched in between other rooms...just a part of the hotel extrudes from main building so they call it a corner room. Corner rooms should have no one on one side of you..and perhaps two windows on each side. Doors are noisy when closed. You hear people come in and out all night long. Hotel should be classified at a Four Points level than a Marriott. It certainly does not have the luxury Marriott feel or look to it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hotel is so close to the airport less than 10 minutes drive. Hotel staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Very clean room. Complementary coffees and tea are provided. Small refrigerator inside the room. Great size of spacious gym to workout. Small indoor pool is attached. Foods at Hotel restaurant is amazing! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awful check in experience

Oct 1st, 2019

Problems checking in for the couple travelling with us - despite having the paperwork, credit card and ID, because the booking was in the name of the husband, who was dropping the rental car off, the diligent receptionist would not allow check in. It required the Manager's intervention after a long queue had formed of people waiting to check in, that our friends were allowed to check in. The high lite was the very friendly lady from Poland who was a server in the restaurant - she was so friendly, happy and helpful. The restaurant is at he low end for a Marriott, and breakfast was also at the low end for a Marriott - typical for a airport hotel. My wife used her credit card upon arrival, (room was pre paid), but when we checked out I paid on my credit card. This obviously created confusion as we then ended up with double charges in some cases. Upon requesting the bills, all the double charges mysteriously disappeared!!! We have stayed at many Marriotts before, and they tend to be consistently good - this place was definitlry the exception, so always check the charges if you are checking in with one credit card but paying with another. Fortunately we were only staying one night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not practical for Air Crew, maybe a good deal for the Airline.

Poor break fast, no restaurant options nearby, far from the city, laundry service quite expensive and they only deliver your clothes upon payment, Marriott? Very noisy if runway 06 of YYZ is in use. So make sure your room is not part of the final 08 side. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
