Above and Beyond Customer Service

Jan 17th, 2020

The hotel is nice, but the service is amazing. My family and I stayed here last year and we forgot to write a review right after our stay, but now that we plan on returning it reminded us of the wonderful service we had. So much so that my young daughter instantly asked about Lady Rose. Lady Rose is one member of a team of delightful people that care for the guests. We hope she is still there and look forward to seeing her again. I could give many examples of the detailed attention we received, but here is one that really stands out. There was a water damage issue in the lobby when we were there and the way to the garage was confusing so the general manager walked me to the hotel garage to make sure I didn't have the inconvenience of navigating the confusing path without a guide. I found this type of attentiveness and initiative in every employee I met there. I have traveled to over 45 countries and stayed in 5 star hotels from time to time and the service at this hotel is on par with the best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NYE at the Marriott

Jan 5th, 2020

This was my first time staying at this hotel. It was a comfortable stay, but it could have been better. If you’ve never stayed here and you’re driving in, watch the signs closely or you will miss the entrance and waste time circling the block over and over again. Luckily, I had come with my friend the previous week when she was staying here (I was staying at a different hotel), so I knew where to find the entrance. I like that there is a Starbucks attached to the hotel. Check-in was a breeze as I did a mobile check-in. Elevators require you to tap your room key which is nice for added security. This hotel is not tall, but it is wide. My room in proximity to the elevator was a bit of a walk. Just when I thought I got to the end of the hallway, I had to do a turn to walk further. Not fun in heels. The room was clean. No robes, slippers or bluetooth speakers though. I know it sounds minor, but I stay in Toronto hotels often and I am used to having those in my room. Selection of tea was super slim. Having a mini-fridge was nice. The safe was easy to use. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were super flimsy. I enjoyed the big shower, but the water pressure could have been better. Room service was available, but I was hoping for something a little more upscale rather than what was available. Also, room service was not available 24-hours, so that was a little annoying as it was NYE and the sports bar attached was only open until 1pm. People were running up and down the hallway (I was on the 4th floor), making lots of noise and keeping me up, so it would have been nice to have been able to order a snack since I was kept up until almost 5am. Thank goodness for late check-out. My credit cards were compromised with fraudulent charges just days before checking in, so I used my debit card to check in. I was taken aback that the $250 deposit was given to me in cash rather than back on my card. They said they did not have the ability to put it back on the card. Weird. Overall, the stay was okay. I will probably stick to the hotel I normally stay in when I’m in Toronto instead of booking here though. I just want to add that the staff here are super friendly which made for a nice stay. Great service

Jan 5th, 2020

Everyone at the hotel was helpful and nice. We had free breakfast at the hotel and had an amazing server both mornings. His name is Alex, he was so welcoming, attentive and his smile made our mornings. The workers at the front desk, the bell boys, and the valet parking man were all great! The restaurant has a look into the blue jays Stadium. The pool/hottub/gym is a bit far to get to but is nice. Great location as well, the aquarium, CN tower, shops, Stadium were close by or in the back of the hotel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
