Great 2-bedroom suites!

We stayed here because it had 2bedroom suites which are hard to find. We were me, my wife, my parents plus 3 kids. My parents were in one bedroom. My wife and I in other bedroom, and the kids slept on sofabed. It includes a kitchen, too. We only stayed for 2 nights, as we were visiting family for Christmas. The hotel is a nice standard hotel. Breakfast was good, nothing spectacular, nothing bad. The service was great. For Christmas, they put a note on our door with some treats in middle of the night. It was a nice touch. The staff was great throughout. Checkout was made great by Dancy. Overall, I'd say this is a 2-star or maybe 3-star hotel. It isn't the newest hotel out there, but it has many amenities, including pool, fitness room, and the rooms are clean and good size. I have no complaints and would stay here again. Location-wise.. this place is perfect if you're going to: Six Flags, Cowboys stadium, or Rangers ballpark. All of those are basically walkable, or less than 5 mins driving. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bed Bugs

I stayed here for 8 days due to a job assignment. It's a little older about clean. Bfast is included and that wasn't bad. However in the early days of my stay I started getting bug bites on my back and left arm that itched like crazy. I checked the bed area and didn't see anything so I wondered if it was something at the job site. Each day I was getting more and more chewed up. At 3 AM on my last day I jumped out of bed and jerked the sheets off the bed. I used an flashlight and finally found a bed bug. I went downstairs to speak with the night clerk. He offered to move me, NO other than the fact I was leaving that day I didn't want to contaminate another room. He told me to bag up all my clothes, clean & dirty and he would have housekeeping wash it. At 6:30 when I was leaving for work he asked me to send some of my photos to their E-mail address so the manager could see them. I sent 6 photos. During the day I called to speak to the manager. I was worried about my suitcase and my truck which I've driven back & forth from the hotel for 8 days. James Smith, the "Guest Service Manager" seemed really put out that I was bothering him with something so small. Not only did he NOT pull up the photos he sounded like I was pulling a scam. I told him that my employer paid for the room so any reimbursement for the room would go to them. He said their exterminator would inspect the room and depending on what he finds the GM would or would not call me. I hung up and called Marriott's 1-800 Customer Service number and filed a formal complaint. When I returned to pick up my clothes I left my hard side suitcase with the staff. I just didn't trust it wasn't contaminated. I ruined my Merrill Moab T-shoes running them through a hot dryer to kill any bugs. I'm waiting on their follow up TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average hotel

I recently stayed here for 2 nights in a studio suite. The bed was not very comfortable and the mattress on the pullout bed was dirty and very uncomfortable. James at the front desk was amazing in helping us and provided extra linens to help with the pull out bed. I would say that this is an average hotel with an excellent staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

FANTASTIC

This hotel was fantastic! From check-in to check-out staff and everyone we came into contact with staying there were VERY polite! All the staff members said excuse me even if they thought that they might be in our way,the guests did as well. The breakfast was great, and the food was always refilled.We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, and slept very well! I believe that guests can feed off the energy of places like a hotel,and it was all positive! Way to go! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Basketball games equal zero sleep

We travel a fair bit and stay at a variety of hotels. We chose this location due to it's proximity to Six Flag's water park. As far as the location goes, this hotel is fantastic. Staying here automatically saves you $30 as you will not need to drive to the water park, you simply walk over. It took us about 7 minutes to go from the hotel's front door to the park's entrance. The breakfast here is rather tasty. They had omelets each morning and fried potatoes. They alternated from bacon to sausage patties each day. They also have a waffle maker, pastries, and three types of cold cereal: Fruit Loops, Rasin Bran, and Bran flakes. It is rare to find a hotel breakfast that tastes as good as this hotel's breakfast does. However, that is where the benefits of staying here end. A quick tip: if you are thinking of staying here in one of their suites...don't do it. We haven't had this poor quality of sleep in a hotel in maybe 20 years. They have a basketball court right outside the bedroom window of the suites. At any point in time, all day long, there is a basketball game going. You can hear every bounce, every scream to pass the ball, every cheer, you can hear it all. The games are allowed to go on from 8 am to 10 pm. The games began precisely at 8 am each day we were there. The first night we called at 10:20 asking the front desk to ask the teenagers to stop playing so we could get some sleep. The second night we tried to be polite but we just couldn't take it any longer and we had to call at 11:15 pm to the front desk asking them to stop the game so we could sleep. So, if you are a fan of or need to take a mid-day nap, you'd best bring noise-canceling headphones. If you want to sleep past 8 am or sleep before 10 pm...look elsewhere. I'm sure this bothers other rooms too but the basketball court is right outside of windows of the suites. Another inconvenient part of the hotel is the size of the dining room/lobby. The room is so packed with breakfast goers that several folks had to sit outside and even more simply took their food to their rooms to eat it. The hotel would do well to reorganize their hobby if they want to use it as a breakfast area. We all also thought it odd that the hallway lighting was so dark. The kids joked that they expected a ghost to jump out at them at any point as the hallway lighting is rather creepy. The room was just okay. The suite was advertised as having a queen pullout couch. However, it was only a twin. Since we could only fit one child on this and not the two we planned for we asked for a cot to be brought up and we were told they did not have any. We ended up with one child that was going to have to sleep on the floor which I wasn't about to allow so I took one for the proverbial team and slept on the floor. The hallways are also thin-walled. We would walk down the hallways and hear many of the conversations that were going on in the rooms. I've never heard so many room conversations when staying at a hotel. The kids were happily surprised the TVs were internet TVs. They were all able to log into YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu. They all had something to watch as we settled down for the night after a full day at the parks. The suite does come with a TV in both bedrooms and one in the living room area. The bathroom sink had its own room as it was separated by a door from the bathtub and toilet. The bathtub is unusually small for a hotel, I thought. The kitchen area came with a midsize fridge, a dishwasher, a small stovetop, and a few dishes. Even though the suite is advertised as sleeping 6 it only had dishes for three. We called the front desk and they were able to find us a few extra glasses. We only used the fridge so I can't speak to if the other appliances worked well or not. In all, we'd definitely look around for another option to stay at should we ever return to Six Flags. With that said, the convenience of walking across the street to the water park was quite awesome. However, the hallway noise, basketball games, lack of sleep, and poor dining room organization make it highly unlikely we'd chose this location for our hotel of choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
