Excellent Front Desk Staff

Feb 13th, 2020

The greeting when you arrive at a hotel sets the tone for the entire stay . When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by Nancy. She was amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. She handled both our check-in and assisted a caller simultaneously- a great multitasker. Each contact with her was extremely positive. My partner had to call the hotel approximately two weeks after our stay to ask the Accounting Department a question. Once again Nancy provided exceptional customer service. Two comments about the hotel: Breakfast is served at the adjoining Springhill Suites. The breakfast area was large and the breakfast offering were very good. (Breakfast at other Towneplace Suites is usually pretty simple.) This breakfast had many choices and was nicely presented. The one downside was that the mattress in the room needed to be replaced. Clean Hotel Showing some Age

Feb 1st, 2020

Stayed here using points when I realized we were ending our vacation in Miami in Super Bowl weekend!! Should have had my head checked! All of the other even dive hotels were $400!!! Marriott usually does a pretty nice job. This hotel is showing some signs of age and probably is due for some refurbishment. The lab by looks a little tired. These rooms are very nice in that they have a small complete kitchen and a full size fridge and a pullout couch good for a small family. I would recommend staying here for business . It is close to some business parks but not in a touristic area. It seems to be clean and quiet and relatively close to the airport! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Check your room location

Sep 27th, 2019

Nice, comfortable room but I should have changed room locations as it was the first room past the automatic door. Every time someone came in there was a loud thunk, all hours. An it was inconvenient to have to walk next door to the SpringHill Suites for breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No air conditioning

Sep 18th, 2019

The hotel might seem like a good value for the money however within the first 12 hours of our month long stay here, our a/c stopped working. A technician expeditiously came to our room to start resolving the issue once we notified the hotel. After several hours, the technician said he can't resolve the problem and will have it addressed the following day. Meanwhile while the tech was in our suite, smokes started billowing out of the a/c vents. Our room smelled horrible. It got so bad our smoke detectors started going off. The tech said do not open our door when we wanted to air out our suite because it would then set off the other smoke detectors within the building. His solution was to bring us a fan from the janitorial room to try and move the smoke around. It took a very long time to work. The following day the technician showed up in the morning and exclaimed he had fixed the issue. He said it would take a few hours to cool down and not to worry. Well 9 hours later, our room is still 80 degrees and the air is not working. The first night the a/c stopped working they relocated us to a new room for the night. The second night they said we were out of luck and they will try to get the a/c working the next day. The hotel refuses to call an a/c company and keeps using in house technicians. The second technician said if Luis (the first tech) couldn't solve the problem, then there is nothing I can do and it will have to wait till the following day to be addressed. I booked the Embassy Suites right next door to house my family for the night since the room smells musty from no a/c for at least 36 hours. The very nice gentleman working the front desk informed us that we are not the only room experiencing this issue, however the in house service team will not acknowledge any one else is experiencing any a/c problems. The man working the front desk said he was told many of the 2 bedroom suites were having a/c problems and were off limits to book including our specific 4th floor room. Not happy since we signed a long term lease at this hotel. We are being patient however the newer employees are quick to show their frustration of the multiple complaints while the seasoned employees of the hotel are playing dumb. Plus the hotel parking lot is under construction leaving only a handful of spaces near the hotel and the rest of the parking is further away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This place needs a facelift

May 15th, 2019

We stayed here on a recent trip to Boca Raton with our 2 year old grandson. I knew it would not be fancy, but as a Marriott property, I expected a well maintained place. Unfortunately, that was not the case. This is a tired property in bad need of some TLC. The room was reasonably well laid out (we had a 2 bedroom suite) and met our needs well. The tub had chips and cracks and the room smelled old and tired. I will say the people were very nice, the pool was ok and the included breakfast was plentiful and good. We considered moving to a different property but couldn’t find a good alternative. If you pick this place, don’t expect much.... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
