Front counter person was not friendly. I had lots of luggage and when I ask if it was passable to drive closer to the room I was told no. When we put our luggage on the cart with the flat tire and hauled it out the back door and across the road I saw it was possible to drive the luggage much closer to my room. Floors were tile and filthy. The key did not open the door. I had to go back to desk and they gave me another room. The next morning there was a homeless person camped out 2 rooms from mine. My guestroom didnt even lock. The card was useless. The bathroom light air vent made an awful sound. The vending machines had cardboard over it because someone had broken into them and stole a whole row of snacks. 1 of the cameras on our hallway wasnt even plugged in. The wires were literally hanging next to it. They also wouldnt take my debit card I had to use credit because of the small bank I use TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The first room had roaches and other bugs. The next room had spiders, a dusty ceiling, mold on the bathroom door. Had to ask for clean linen EVERYDAY. The refrigerator didn’t work, although the maintenance guy did bring in another one that froze EVERYTHING. I’ll never go back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Where to start...Before anyone reads this review, keep in mind that I am certainly not used to the best of anything. But there are some things that need to be told so that others will not have the same experiences that we had...We had reservations there only because they offered a shuttle service to the cruise ship dock. Not being familiar with the area, we made the reservations based on the online pictures and the ability to leave our vehicle there while we were on the cruise. The problems began immediately. After driving all day to get to Florida, we were told when we arrived that we couldn't check in because the "system was down." The receptionist said that it would probably be 2 - 2 1/2 hours before the system was back up. So, off we go to Wal-mart so we could have somewhere to hang out for that length of time. Upon arriving back at the hotel, we were finally able to check in. The hotel is located in a very rough side of town. My first impression of the place was that it is used as a long term rental place for families and others who don't have any where else to live. There were people there who didn't really look like they were on vacation. Also, we could tell that the hotel is used for long term lodging for construction workers etc who will be in the area for a while. There's nothing wrong with that, but it gives you an idea of what kind of place it is. The room we got was very outdated and didn't appear to be very clean. The bleach smell from the "laundered" sheets was so strong it almost drove us out of the room. There was an approximate one-half inch crack between the door frame and the door that was plenty big enough for any insect or lizard (there were many in the courtyard) to crawl through. At this point, my wife was very upset and suggested that we leave and find somewhere else to stay. However, I was very tired from the drive, and wasn't sure if anywhere else would have any vacancies, so we stayed. My main concern at this point was leaving my vehicle parked at the place for six days while we were going to be gone. I parked it in the best place I could find, and hoped for the best. The next morning, we were picked up by the shuttle, and a young couple who was also going on the cruise looked at us and asked us if we knew if the location was safe because they were also concerned about their vehicle being left there. Fast forward to Saturday..we were dropped off at the hotel and were over joyed that our vehicle was still there and still had all four tires. I had to use the restroom, so my wife sat in the car while while I ran in the hotel and used the one in the lobby. Upon my return, my wife was sitting there with the doors locked. She said that she witnessed one of the "vacationers" who stays at the hotel with a handgun waiving it around and then stuck it down in the waistband of his pants. So fellow travelers, use your own judgment, but I do not recommend this "hotel" at all. I don't feel that it is safe, and it's very outdated. I'm sure there are better choices in the area, you just have to do a little research to find them. I just wish that we had checked the reviews before we stayed at this location. Happy motoring! Outdated, dirty, scary...

First off I will say that I did not come to trip advisor and read reviews before booking this hotel. I actually read reviews from the booking website, which painted a slightly better looking picture of this hotel. The photos that are available for this website showing their rooms is very deceiving and I would like to know what room that was and when the photos were taken because it is a poor representation of what the rooms actually look like. The appeal to this motel was, of course, the price tag. I have stayed in cheap hotels/motels before, so getting a cheaper/older motel was not the issue. This place was different. I wouldn't have taken compensation to stay here. First, the room was not clean. The were small items throughout the room on the floor that hadn't been swept up (old hair ties, etc.) The floor had sort of film on it and was constantly damp no matter how low the AC was ran. There was a small roughly 1/4 inch puddle of water between the toilet and shower in the bathroom. In the shower, there was exposed wall spots that needed patched. The bedding would be described as a single sheet and a tablecloth that was in the shape of a blanket. (Not kidding, it felt like a tablecloth material and was thin). There were small dirty spots and a burn mark throughout the bedding. The pool was out of service, which was explained to us in a sort of temporary situation, but later we found out that it has been out of service for around a month. The continental breakfast was a joke (plain bagels, mini pre made muffins and apples.. That's it!) Upon arrive at our motel my young daughter and I were constantly yelled at by a man to get our attention, as we ignored him to walk to our room. In the middle of the night around 1 am - someone set off fireworks very close to our room, I'm assuming in the motel courtyard area. We received incorrect or prank phone calls at 5 am on or phone. Our door handle was vigorously shaken multiple times at around 6 am. Also, the pry marks on our door, along with the peeling paint were a nice touch. We clearly didn't feel safe throughout the night. In addition, their wifi did not work and you could not receive any quality cell signal in the room. I could get enough to send out texts in a certain spot. The lady working the front desk when we left had absolutely no clue what she is doing. She didn't know what to do when I checked out early. The day shift lady was running late and no manager. I have been in contact with the booking website to get a refund for the remaining nights we didn't stay and they have tried now for 4 days and the motel won't answer their phone. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
