Just returned from 9 days at the Eagle Aruba Resort. The staff is 2nd to none, they are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and available. The construction going on by one of the pools was minor and was not a distraction. There were 2 other pools for you to enjoy. They are serious about their covid protocol and instead of a key they give you a bracelet that lets you into the room. It's an above average basic resort located in back of LaCabana resort whom they share a beach with. I had no problems no matter what time I went to the beach getting a covered spot. I was able to catch the bus on the main road to go into the high rise level where most of the action is. There is a grocery store a short walk away and on site there is a Dunkin Donut on site as well as one Restaurant. Other restaurants are located in LaCabana. The casino at eagle is closed but LaCabana has a small one but it was not great at all. If you are looking for a full service resort this is not it. No staff comes to your room but leaves you fresh sheets if you want to change your bedding as no staff is allowed in guest rooms except for an emergency. If you want clean towels you leave the dirty ones outside your door in a bag they provide and they replace them. I will definitely return to this resort. The only negative thing I experienced is one of the guys who is responsible for getting you the chairs at the beach was not available and always hiding. You are not allowed to get your own chairs as they are locked up. LaCabana has their own staff responsible for that and so does Eagle but the Eagle person was not attentive. It was not the young nice guy who was always helpful. I can't remember all the lovely staff who helped me so forgive me but some are Jousha, Pablo, Nicoletta. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Good value hotel

Just got back from a week at this hotel. The pools were good, the rooms was nice and spacious for our entire family. The view of the NYE fireworks from our hotel was amazing. We were able to see the entire area near the high rises lit up. A few things we did not like was the on site store was always closed and we had to go to the hotel across the street to get any snacks/drinks. The casino was also closed so had to play at other casinos. This is not on the beach, but the walk was not that far. They do also a golf cart but it was close enough we did not use it. Most taxis park at hotel next door was well. The staff was great and friendly. We would stay here again, but would probably make sure the closed items were open before we booked. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Didn't even make it to the room, the construction is everywhere!

We booked two nights to extend our stay in Aruba after a week at a timeshare. As we pulled in we noticed the construction right away. We checked in and as we were doing that my kids walked around (they are 17 and 19) and noticed all the construction. My husband and I then walked around and couldn't believe the hotel was open with so much going on. There were ladders and workers and construction equipment everywhere! The pool with the slide was completely empty! We decided to not stay as we were planning on just relaxing at the pools our final days and that was literally impossible with how much was going on. The resort did refund us our money. We then had to book somewhere else last minute (and it cost us twice as much since it was last minute). I wish Eagle Aruba would of communicated the construction to us in advance. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed Dec. 15-19 Got a newly renovated room and it was awesome ! Very clean and Nice, not one complaint... there was construction going on but it did not bother me as I spent my days at the beach and exploring, I did notice a "Pool Closed" sign but also seen people in the pool (?) Sure, they are upgrading the hotel and pool area but it was fine with me ...The staff were all as nice as could be, everyone I saw had a smile and a hello :o) I would and will stay there again. Review of Eagle Aruba Resort & Casino
Dec 16th, 2020
I was very disappointed in my stay at Eagle. This trip was booked back in February, and at some point during the year I learned the resort had been closed. Mind you, I learned this information from a friend who had also booked there and did not received any communication from the resort itself. I received absolutely NO communication from the resort. I assumed this closure was due to COVID. I learned from my friend, after he was finally able to get a hold of someone at the resort, that the resort would officially reopen on December 15th, but they would honor reservations beginning December 1st since we were scheduled to arrive on December 6th. When we arrived at the resort we found is was half shut down for a major renovation project. Only one pool was usable and there were NO amenities available...no ice machines, no food/drink, no laundry services, etc. Again, there was NEVER any communication about the state of the resort to me, nor any offer for a discount due to so many amenities not being available. Additionally, the courtyard where the operational pool was located was also cluttered with construction equipment and debris, which we had to walk through, in sandals, anytime we left the resort. There was also a strong odor of adhesives, construction dust, and construction noise during all daytime hours. There was also no communication regarding what time check out was on our last day. We left our room to get breakfast only to find our keys had been deactivated while we were out. When we returned we had to have security let us back into the room to retrieve our belongings because the front desk had just moved out of the mobile office they were operating out of when we checked in to the partially finished front desk area and the key generator was not functioning. I should mention this whole process took an excessively long period of time before it was resolved. Our room itself was nice, but that's really the only good thing I can say about it. I would not recommend staying at this resort, and I do not plan to return. I will happily return to Aruba again and again, but I will not stay at Eagle. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
