Loved our room in the South tower! Enjoyed our stay overall and especially appreciate how the clean team was on top of everything as well as the rest of the staff on the gaming floor. They reinforced the CDC guidelines to people who were lax in wearing their masks 😷 properly in a very kind and courteous manner and we felt very safe and comfortable. People were social distancing and the slot machines were spaced out properly as well. We had dinner at the Palm and it was delicious. Highly recommend it if you’re a steak lover. They will charge your card unauthorized charges and tell you to just dispute it with your credit card company,even after talking to Theresa director of operations, she did nothing to make our situation right or even try to...She's very rude and impolite.... I travel all over the world and have never experienced a problem like I've had staying here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Do NOT Stay At The Tropicana

My family and I went to the Tropicana this past weekend for a family member’s birthday. Upon our arrival, we were relieved to see the enforcement of COVID restrictions. We felt safe in our two hotel rooms. Unfortunately, that feeling did not last long. As my family and I settled for a night cap in the second room, one of them spotted a bug crawling by the pillow. After close inspection, I knew it was a bed bug. [I had an infestation at home 8 years ago and not only know how they look like but how to get rid of them, which I will mention later]. Moving all the sheets, I found another one. We called the front desk and their response was to transfer us to another room. It was after 1 am so we accepted but now that we were on high alert, we decided to inspect the bed. Guess what we find in the new hotel room? That’s right: another bed bug. Although I did not find a bed bug in the first room, my family and I packed our bags and headed to the hotel lobby. We were disgusted and livid. The rooms were booked by my mom’s sister and my old man. They were gambling at Ocean so we had to wait for them to arrive. We did not what to expect or what to do but we knew we did not want to stay in those rooms. We spoke to the hotel manager for about 20 minutes. There was a lot of arguing, a lot of cursing from our side. Honestly, I feel the hotel manager was patient and tried her hardest to communicate with us. The problem was that we did not feel she was doing her best to accommodate us. Oh, and what really aggravated me was when she said that in 20 years, she had never seen a bed bug in the hotel. The online reviews beg to differ. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking the rooms but trust me, I will from now on. Basically, (after there was nothing else she could for us and with home being two hours away) we stayed in the other tower. We checked the beds and they appeared clean but the rooms were far from perfect. The bathroom door was broken and would not lock. There was a random hole in the ceiling that looked weird. We spent three nights in AC. We visited the restaurants and the elders spent money at the casino. At check-out, my father spoke to the front desk and, again, expressed his discontent with the rooms and the whole ordeal we went through. The hotel promised a discount. As soon as we got home, we threw our clothes in the dryer: heat or steam kills the bugs. My father just received the notification this morning; low and behold, they gave us a $50 discount. Wow, thanks Tropicana! I highly, HIGHLY doubt we will stay in this hotel again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Before kids, my husband and I went to AC all the time. We are Ceasar Total Rewards members and decided to book The Tropicana. We traveled on Friday night with our two boys for a birthday getaway. They sent me an email for contactless phone check-in, which of course was a no-brainer considering what is going on. Upon arrival in the Havana Tower, I found a kiosk to scan my code and get my room keys. I swiped my credit card and it said my name didn't match my reservation. I tried again, and the machine said I needed to go check-in at the desk. I was annoyed but whatever, my family was already on the line. At the desk, they did all the nonsense that I had already done on the phone check-in. I swiped my card again and then was give an empty key holder and a parking voucher. An empty key holder, no room keys! Then, was told that I had to walk to the South Tower to go to the check-in over there to pick up my room keys! So more contact, more interaction with employees, and touching of more surfaces! How in the world does this make any sense to the people running this hotel to make guests interact with as many people as possible during a pandemic. I was pissed! I walked to the South tower with my two small boys and all the luggage from the car. In the South tower, there is a line, of course, and once I get my key then I have to walk again to the Chelsea Tower. All in all, check-in took 45 mins! Once I am in the room the toilet isn't working, my husband fixes it. Just what he wants to do on his birthday getaway. The room is not well-maintained, furniture is chipped, holes in the sheets, dirty carpet. I called to complain about check-in and the young lady at the front desk says to me, "but you are in your room now, right?" The lack of concern for guests at this place is unlike anything I have ever experienced. I check my card since they made me swipe it so much and despite the machine saying that the transactions did not go through, they charged me $383 THREE times! Upon check-out, they charged my card another $283, instead of releasing the first charge! They put a total hold of $1,400 on my card!!! Again, when I called them to complain, they had the attitude that this standard procedure and they did nothing wrong! I had to urge them to check all the charges and reverse their mistakes, which they did with only two charges! The next day the final extra charge cleared. Trying to leave the hotel was a nightmare too! the line for the elevator for the garage was wrapped around the entire floor of the Havana Tower. They had no alternate route with the stairs! Just people on top of each other waiting for the elevator. I am sure if you are overly concerned about COVID, you aren't going to AC. But if you wish to continue to go out and try to safely enjoy life, THE TROPICANA HAS NO PLANS IN PLACE TO KEEP YOU SAFE! The whole experience was a nightmare! STAY AWAY! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
