Above and Beyond

Feb 20th, 2020

My husband injured his leg while at this resort and received excellent care. All his medical expenses were covered and the concern shown to him was amazing. We felt very well cared for! The food was great, staff were wonderful and always plenty of comfy lounge chairs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First time to Barbados - Great place great time

Feb 18th, 2020

Hotel room was great with great view and nice size balcony. The service was good - the drinks were good and food was good. I would go back. The beach and view was really great and the hotel location was great. Walking distance to shops and nice restaurants right on the ocean. We had Ezra as our driver for a trip around the island. He did a great job showing us places like pottery factory, Bathsheba Beach and very nice rum distillery St Nicholas Abbey. That place is great and worth checking out if you like a 1750 colonial mansion - great grounds and great rum. Capt Sam with the water activities at the hotel is Very good. Everything is free including going sailing on a Hobie Cat. The wave runners have a cost but that is expected. He and his guys set up our lounge chairs, and made sure we had everything we needed. All in all - the hotel was great. Amazing Cafe Mochas in the cafe and excellent chocolate shakes. Our group of 7 had an awesome time for 4 days there. It is not Ritz Carlton and you are not paying those prices. It is a very good value taking in price - beach front - all you can eat and drink and the extras mentioned TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely beautiful, take me back there now.

Feb 17th, 2020

This was our second trip to Barbados but first with our child (age 4). Last time we stayed in a B&B accommodation in Hastings but wanted the convenience of all inclusive having a young child. Positives, many! The beach is stunning, not a stone is sight, the sea was quite rough however so we didn't swim but the water was clear and warm for paddling and just meters from the hotel. Our room on the ground floor opened up onto one of the 4 pools and was in such a great location for everything. Absolutely beautiful master bedroom, ok bathroom with over bath shower and just steps away from the pools and restaurants as well as internet café and guest services. Some nights we had real trouble sleeping due to some pesky frogs outside the room somewhere but that can't be helped! Also the entertainment was pretty loud as it was very near our room but we were going to bed very early due to our 4 year old (and being worn out!) but I don't think it continued unreasonably late, just wish we got to enjoy it at some point! Staff. Apart from maybe a couple of stern staff in the restaurant where some people might have forgotten their shoes (easily done as one of them is attached to the beach bar) everyone was amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful and always trying to engage our son. Special shout out to Maradonna at the beach bar, Lasonta in the restaurant and Kobe who read my son's favourite books with him at dinner time; he adored him. Also all the staff in the kids club. The kids club was fabulous, clean, bright, tidy, loads of toys and crafts (and if my son was happy being left I would have done! I tried numerous times). Open until 9 at night with a playground and table games outside, we visit at some point every day. The gym was great for a hotel gym! Loads of free weights and cardio machines, very clean. Really good. The shop was good and had nice gifts as well as things you might need. Never seemed to open on time but Bajans are very relaxed about time! The pools were lovely, cleaned every morning. The kids pool was the perfect depth, it maybe could have done with a bit more shade over it as we couldn't use it certain times of the day but my son spent every hour he could in it. All the buffet food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was great, nice variety and really tasty. You are able Burgers, hotdogs, crisps, pizza and chips at any time from the sandtrap restaurant, the icecream and milkshake parlour as well as the café with paninis, pastries and cakes and tea and coffees was amazing. Cocktails at the beach bar were all delicious and the pop up bars and events every day also brilliant. Location being near to Oistins and St Lawrence Gap is great although we didn't manage to get down there this time. Negatives. Only that the location of resort is quite far down South and therefore a long cab ride if you want to go anywhere other than Oistins/St Lawrence Gap (especially as the traffic always seemed awful!) Bridgetown was as far up as we went, luckily we had done island tours on our last visit but if you wanted to go up to Harrisons caves or anywhere on the North of the island it would have been a very long journey (although a day tour perhaps booked through the hotel desk would definitely be worth it, you must get out and see the island!) In Summary, I adore this hotel but you really must make the effort to get out and about at some point! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First visit to Barbados

Feb 16th, 2020

After a lot of research I decided on Turtle Beach Resort because it was one of the larger hotels on the island and was located on the south coast which I felt would be a bit more lively for my family of 7 adults. I was nervous about some of the negative reviews and the hotel being “tired looking.” I am very picky about my hotels. Yes the bathrooms need some updating, which I’m sure Marriott will be doing with taking over but we had 3 oceanfront rooms and you didn’t even notice anything but how beautiful the view was sitting out on our balcony. The food was good with a lot of choices and a different theme every night. The beach is gorgeous! I have been to many islands in the carribean and this beach tops them all. The water was warm with small waves. Maradonna is the beach ambassador and he is excellent! He makes sure you have everything you need while relaxing in the sun. The staff and service at this resort was excellent and everyone was very professional and friendly! We will defiantly be back next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A very nice little resort on a beautiful island

Feb 13th, 2020

We spent a week at Turtle Beach Barbados. It is a long flight from Toronto, but that far south you have perfect weather. A nice little all inclusive with couples and families. beautiful pools, an amazing beach (windy but the waves are fun and not a problem at all). Our room walked out onto the pool (20 feet away). Good food and drinks - a short walk to the Gap - a very happening strip of bars and restaurants. I'd recommend Turtle to anyone wanting a quiet, beautiful vacation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
