Elegant and comfortable

Jan 19th, 2020

Stayed here for long weekend. Marriott has done a great job is creating an elegant and intimate hotel in train station. Great breakfasts and cute bar. Close to HonkyTonk areas but far enough for easy walk to excellent restaurants of Gulch TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Historic Hotel

Jan 13th, 2020

I can’t say enough about this hotel spent 3 days here when we were in Nashville, it is a gorgeous hotel right on Broadway just blocks away from all the action. We were on the 6th floor in a spacious room, bed was comfortable room was very clean. The staff were more than accommodating and the food and drinks in the lobby were excellent. If you have time take the free tour they offer as this was an old train station that has been totally renovated with a lot of the original fixtures ( the stained glass ceiling is amazing) would definitely stay here again. Abysmal Customer Service and Dishonest

Jan 6th, 2020

I am finally writing this review after six very long months of extreme frustration. My family and I stayed at this hotel in late June/early July. When we left and arrived at the airport, I realized I had left my iPad in the room. I take full responsibility for this and KNOW this was my fault. However, I instantly called the hotel – and much to my relief – was told they head located it and would be mailing it to me ASAP. Two weeks go by and I haven’t received it so I called back and was told that they had mailed it, but OOPS they just mailed it to some random OTHER person with my last name. They tried contacting that person who was traveling on business but would get back to me as soon as they heard back. Two more months go by and we have been in close contact with Peter [--] who ensures us they would replace the iPad, but FIRST I had to change my review on trip advisor about how poorly they managed the process. Feeling a bit of pressure, I just deleted my review – well, I never should have done that, because the second I did that Mr. [--] and the entire facility started brushing me off. It has been SEVEN MONTHS and we have been told numerous times that “the check is in the mail,” or “the check has to come from corporate.” I take FULL responsibility for leaving my iPad, but they did ship it to the wrong person who clearly never returned it. If they weren’t going to honor their commitment to replace the iPad, they should have never made it to begin with and the fact that they don’t return my calls or acknowledge me in anyway at this point is extremely frustrating. Gorgeous building

Jan 1st, 2020

Being a lover of architecture and history, this is one of my favorite buildings in Nashville. The huge Romanesque Revival building with its clock tower is one of the most striking buildings in the city. It started out as a train station and then fell into disrepair in the 1970's and was almost torn down when an attempt to revitalize it failed in bankruptcy. Thank goodness it was saved. We have never stayed at the hotel it is now, but we love the lobby with its huge, tall barrel vaulted ceiling, ornately decorated with Tiffany glass. It has everything that makes a Victorian structure great: marble floors, exquisite woodwork, crystal chandeliers, huge fireplaces, and gorgeous bas relief sculpture with gold leaf details. The Gulch and downtown are in walking distance. I was told room rates start at about $200 and up depending on the room selected. If you appreciate older historic buildings it is worth a walk to just to see the lobby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Negatives outweigh the positives

Jan 1st, 2020

I was very excited to stay at this hotel, it looks gorgeous in the photos and it is gorgeous and in a great location but that is where the positives end. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. There are so many great hotels in Nashville, don't waste your money here. Pros -Beautiful, historic structure (though no one at the hotel tells you about the history) -Great, central location (perfectly in between downtown and the Gulch, just a few min walk to both) -Gorgeous suite with high ceilings, beautiful furniture and city views -Art museum literally next door Cons -Found a dead bug in the closet (I did need our room right away so they were forced to do a quick cleaning to get this done so maybe missed the bug because of the rush job) -Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced (no one opens doors, helps with luggage, I was repeatedly left notices and voicemails that I didn't pay for my room but front desk knew nothing about it and of course the charges were on my card so I did pay) -No pool -No spa -They use the lobby as an event space so at times there is no common space -No concierge -Very slow elevator (I believe we were on the 4th floor and I ended up taking the stairs after the first day) Don't stay here!
