Everything was great...except the shuttle

Jan 19th, 2020

Hotel was lovely. Great pool, club level was totally worth the cost, pools were awesome, and staff was friendly and helpful. The water taxis were great and easy access. My kids (9 and 12) loved it all! Room was nice - great bathroom. Although our room in the Villa wing kind of had that “cheap hotel” smell (old carpeting perhaps?). The Universal Shuttle sucks though. They didn’t have a record of the correct reservation time in the system for us and didn’t show up. (And weren’t in any hurry to remedy the situation - acted like they didn’t believe us even tho I had a text confirming the shuttle time.). Shuttle showed up 40 minutes late making us really pinched at airport. Would definitely return to US and the Portofino but will NOT use Universal’s shuttle to/from airport again. Perfect Portofino

First time staying onsite and had a club level room. Loved everything about it, the staff, the room, the food, the proximity to the parks, the ambience. It was absolutely incredible. Can't wait to do it all again next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A very hotel that shines by its convenience

Jan 16th, 2020

I had a group of friends visiting from Europe. We had only one day in Orlando so I wanted to make the most of it. The Loews is conveniently located and access to Universal is the best. Not only you can use their free boat ride that gets you to universal city walk but hotel comes with a perk that gives you Unlimited express lane in the park. That saves the day since you won't be waiting much for rides. That in itself is worth staying there. The hotel is nice, We stayed in a wing that seemed to be recently renovated. Everything is clean. The grounds are very much of the spirit of Universal. Room is very comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Expensive but those good memories were priceless

Jan 15th, 2020

My travel agent promised me it was an amazing hotel and she was right. Enjoyable architecture, genuine Italian decor, rooms are luxurious, delicious meals at the hotel restaurant, fast response at the front desk and staff doesn't fail at making their guests feel special (Jaiden in particular, what an asset for that hotel). Yes, it's expensive as hell but good memories are priceless. Just one (minor) complaint : the shower is extremely small but I was told that you get a bigger one if you get a room which has been updated 1 or 2 years ago. I recommend future guests to ask for it prior to their reservation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyable

Jan 12th, 2020

We liked this hotel; walkable to both universal parks and citywalk along a lovely garden path. Our room overlooked the waterway, and rooms were generally quiet. Staff was pleasant: there when needed but not intrusive. Areas were clean and pleasant; service was good, we tried nice and loved it; Starbucks right on premise open at 5am. Really tranquil setting, and the outdoor pool tables and bocce on crushed sand/stone was awesome. The parking garage is a bit of a distance, and the rooms are in east or west wings - generally gotten to by exiting the building which was a bit awkward. Only complaint was staff who have said the same sentences so often they are now slurring the speech. We had to ask several to slow down and annunciate directions when we needed them.
