Zero amenities. I get that we are in a covid environment but make an effort. Gift shop had nothing. Pool was inaccessible unless you made reservations days prior. Maintenance tech was working on all rooms without any notice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not overly impressed

If you want just a room for an overnight I guess this will work. Front desk staff not particularly welcoming or engaged. I realize services are cut back due to Covid but have stayed in hotels in Santa Barbara and San Diego over the last couple of months and they had the pool open (with limited attendance) as well as limited food and drink available on property. This place had absolutely nothing. Notice in room that housekeeping will only come every 7 days! Asked for extra towels that never arrived. Not even any water in room to make coffee - had to go to local store to buy some. Almost seems like they are skimping on services to recoup money lost over the last few months. Very disapppointing, especially for a Marriott brand. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Left me wanting more

I chose this hotel for our 33rd wedding anniversary based on all the things I had heard and read, unfortunately it did not measure up to my expectations. First and foremost the view from our room was fantastic and sunrise and sunset (location, location, location) were the only thing I will remember from this stay. Parking in the small lot on property is challenging, with limited spots and no clear direction this makes your arrival potentially aggravating. Front staff didn’t seem engaged, or interested that we were there and seemed overwhelmed and were not liking to interact or assist. The room King suite on the 4th floor, the balcony, view and the bed all rate 5 stars. The bathroom rates at best 3 stars. It consists of a really small sink with limited to no counter space; a toilet which is jammed between the sink and the sliding shower door and shower that didn’t impress. This room would be ok, for one person, but isn’t set up to be utilized by two. It seems very cramped and overpriced. I have stayed in many hotels that minus the view were a lot better especially at the price point. Won’t make the same choice next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Won’t be back

Parking is a mess here. The FOB process of getting in and out is atrocious and anxiety inducing. Their machines allow you to take a ticket but don’t allow you to exit with out a key. Very unprofessional looking and frustrating in general. The staff is short with customers and obviously understaffed and uncared for as employees. When we finally got to our room, the TV didn’t work!!!! Our amenities are already lessened because of COVID but we can’t even get a working tv? Not worth the price. Won’t be back to this one. Traveling during a global pandemic, one has to be flexible regarding changes in the communities one travels to. We arrived for a one night stay at the Marriott Ventura Beach the Thursday before the holiday weekend. Covid-19 protections in place at the hotel with social distancing encouraged, plexiglass barriers at the registration counter, and masks worn by staff and guests. Not in place yet were disinfectant wipes in our room or hand sanitizer by the elevator near our room. The staff were friendly and professional. Our room was clean and spacious. We had a view of the swimming pool. Unfortunately, during our stay, the hotel amenities were not available. San Buenaventura State Beach is within quick walking distance with picnic areas in the park area. During our stay, the beach was due to be closed the next day for the holiday weekend starting Friday morning because of Covid-19 infection rates increasing in Ventura County, we were only able to access the beach the day we arrived. We made the most of our visit by enjoying the sunset at the beach. We also found some great food nearby for take out options. We were able to enjoy a leisurely morning relaxing in our room with a late checkout. I would recommend this hotel especially if you want to enjoy being so close to the beach. Check the local conditions first for any restrictions or changes in access that may be in place for the community or at the hotel. Amenities: mini-fridge, hairdryer, in-room safe, toiletries.
