4th of July Visit

Jul 13th, 2019

We stayed because my Coast Guard family was transferring from Virginia to PR.This hotel hosts military families being transferred to the island which earns my loyalty. But crowding a family with 2 children and a dog into 1 room and 1 bed, seems stressful for the families and the hotel staff. Pro - The hotel is centrally located and easy to reach from the airport. The common hallways and rooms are clean. The pool area is very nice although there is no shade-only 1 small cabana. They could set up some umbrella's which people could use to shelter from the hot in the middle of the day. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. A one block walk to the beach is doable and the beach is terrific. Con - at $195 a day it's clearly over priced. Breakfast is the biggest disappointed. It's $15 for instant eggs, sausage and canned fruit. Given that this is a tropical island, I expected fresh fruit and for the price ala carte eggs. They also have some weird pool towel control process which requires you to track a card for each towel with a $25 fine if you lose the card. You also have to run the water about 10 minutes for tepid water and about 1/2 of the rooms have the hot and cold wrongly marked. I would explore other options for lodging of just expect average. BAD NEWS - GOOD NEWS: Not A $200 a Night Hotel!

Jul 8th, 2019

This was an emergency stay suggested by a business associate because the apartment I had requested fell through. I chose an apartment because I am in Puerto Rico for a month. To be fair, I did not do the booking myself, it was actually booked by my associate because they had a friend on staff and could get me a "deal." I want to be clear, no one ever told me the cost of this room prior to booking it. In fact, I had breakfast with the sales person, who never mentioned it to me. But, I take responsibility because I assumed to much. It is clearly an old hotel and as far as my room was concerned, the renovations sucked. The grout around the tub was amateurish. The tub was old; water pressure was almost non-existent and the cleaning was so-so. First night, toilet over flowed; roach in closet. The next day, I mentioned it and they fixed both issues. But, I must admit that I was gob-smacked when I received a nearly $600 bill for 3 nights stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible hotel. AVOID

Apr 27th, 2019

Worst experience ever. Avoid this hotel at all costs. It was a Saturday afternoon, we went back to our room to get ready for a wedding we had and the hotel HAD NO RUNNING WATER for hours. The toilets were not working, the showers and the sinks. Horrible experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Renovations

Apr 26th, 2019

We stayed here for a group event for 3 nights. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the beach, nightlife, restaurants and shops. The room was nice and comfortable with an amazing view of the ocean. I was a bit disappointed that we had to pay for breakfast, considering the room rate. Also the laundry facilities and exercise room were unavailable due to renovations. But I'd like to give a special shout out to Miguel, who brought our luggage to the room and who, throughout our stay was very attentive and informative, and a general pleasure to be around.
