Stunning location with beautiful sunsets

Jul 14th, 2019

We stayed for one week from June 27th for 7 nights. The resort is beautifully located and the staff were fantastic. All rooms are beautifully appointed and all with stunning sea views. The pool area is also gorgeous but for us the beach was very stony which makes it difficult to get in and out of the sea though there is plenty of sand (brought in I'd imagine) if you just wanted to sit at the beach. Three great restaurants and one bar though our one gripe was that Zagara was closed for half our stay which was disappointing as we were not given any notice at a;; that the restaurant was going to close and when we asked we were told it was closed for a restaurant refit when in fact they were closing it down to open it as a Dolce & Gabbana pop up shop!! We would have liked to have known in advance as we would have scheduled our nights out accordingly as this limited our eating out choices given we were staying for a full week. The "cloak and dagger" style lack of information given the upcoming Dolce and Gabbana party was, at times, ridiculous on the part of reception staff. We used the spa during our stay and it really is excellent. We also arranged for a wine tasting with the Sommelier Mauro who was incredibly interesting and knowledgeable and who made excellent recommendations to us throughout our stay. My husband also played golf three times during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the golf course. We will be back but a week might be a just a little two long for us - maybe for 5 days next time. Pretty close to perfect

Jul 10th, 2019

Went as a multi-generational family. A great number of positives - the connecting suites for kids are great; bicycles for everyone and safe riding space; golf course; tremendous food and views at amare restaurant; concierge desk great; pool area and pool bar fantastic; free breakfast great, including awesome service. A few negatives- had an ant problem in one of the suites. You couldn’t leave any food around for longer than an hour before it was covered. Tried multiple times to get a cooking class which was top of list for granddaughter. To no avail. If you are traveling w children, restaurant choice is high end amare or pizza place. Need a 3rd option. Other restaurant is adults only. It’s expensive but it’s a lot of fun. Geared for families. And day trips to local attractions make it even better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful resort with attention to detail

Jul 3rd, 2019

We booked 4 nights at Verdura to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We’d highly recommend a private villa or suite if you’re looking for a romantic break. We stayed in villa IRIS - room 54 which was absolutely perfect for us. The other rooms are good, most seem to have sea views, but are fairly basic and less inspiring given room rates. A massive thank you to Tony from the front office. Hands down, one of the best hotel managers we have ever come across. He has a great style, approach and willingness to make sure guests enjoy their stay. Without Tony, I’m fairly certain we wouldn’t have had such a lovely, relaxing stay. Thank you Tony & rest of team for being so lovely. The resort itself is in a stunning location, with incredible sunsets. The layout is well considered and it’s so easy to get across the resort in either one of the plentiful golf carts or by picking up a complimentary bike. Really good system! Amare seafood restaurant is beautiful. Great seafood, on the beach, amazing views, good ambience. Liola is the traditional trattoria, again good food, attentive staff, great terrace with views. Poolside bar is probably a little expensive for what it is, but the staff were great and chef was amenable to making a tailored salad for us. Overall, Verdura is well thought out, with really well trained staff who are very friendly and attentive. Food is fairly expensive (understandable for amare but perhaps not so much for the pool bar - 31 Euros for a red prawn salad) and the only negative experience we had was ordering room service. Terrible burger, club sandwich salad and fries. Cheese plate was okay. Chocolate dessert was great. Amazing gym! Lots of good new machines. It is a really relaxing, and beautiful place, which we would definitely recommend TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
