Amazing venue for a wedding!

Jul 6th, 2019

We had our wedding here for about 50 people. The villa was beautiful and organized everything very well, Irene, the event manager, was extremely helpful and we had a very memorable wedding. The service and food was great and it is a beautiful spot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fabulous Villa Tolomei experience

Jun 30th, 2019

When we arrived the guy on reception said to us, completely dead pan, that he would show us the room we had booked but if we didn't like it he had an alternative... Well the alternative was one of their newly opened apartments and we would be the first to sleep there! We agreed to try it... The apartments are several hundred yards from the main building - they gave us a golf cart to use for the week! The apartment is a very good size and has all the facilities needed to self-cater for a week (not that we did). The views in all directions from various windows were simply stunning and the apartment block (of 3) is set in a small vineyard (young vines). We ate in the restaurant 3 nights and the food is superb but the service was outstanding both in the restaurant and generally. They simply could not do enough for us. Even when we ate out we returned to the terrace bar to watch the sunset over Florence. I don't know who built the original villa but he picked a fantastic location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel away from it all

Jun 10th, 2019

After a few days in Rome, we decided that we wanted a different experience and stayed at the Villa Tolomei in Florence. The grounds were beautiful. It had great views of the city, a working vineyard and a great pool. The only thing keeping it from a higher rating was the cost to go back and forth to the city every day (€15-20 depending on where you are going and what time if day). They had everything we needed on site, but we came to see Florence so we had to go to and from the city every day. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had a wonderful week in March at the Villa Tolomei. The staff is very attentive, food is delicious, the view is breathtaking. A short walk to the city center. I can report the pool has been redone beautifully . I hope to return someday !! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A most fantastic restaurant

Apr 10th, 2019

We found the hotel and grounds in general and our room in particularly well maintained, and clean. Our room was not the biggest, not helped by it’s slightly strange shape. We did have the use of a huge private veranda overlooking a olive grove to one side, and the city spread out to the front. A big bonus. I suspect all the rooms will not have this. The room had a fridge The bathroom was on the small side and some what dated. We found the floor of the shower cubicle very very slippy in use. Dangerously so. The shower had a grab bar in, if that was not there to use I would have gone over. I would have liked to see a rubber mat provided , or some other solution found. Also the bathroom floor also got slippy when wet, but you can put a towel on the floor to solve this. No problem streaming a film with the free Wi-Fi. I was surprised by this considering how spread out the rooms are. We visited in early April and the swimming pool was not open. All the staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. They all spoke good English. We had one of the best meals we have had for a very long time in the restaurant. Wonderful. The cost of half board my seem expense on the surface, but infact it is falue for money. I cannot understand why it has no Michelin stars. An injustice if I have ever seen one. Breakfast was not as good as dinner. But still very good. It included buffalo mozzarella and other food stuffs from the region, as well as the more normal things you find in quality breakfast buffets. Recommends. And you must have dinner in that restaurant.
